Were did the Sammut rumour surface from?

i know its just a rumour,but if hull are after sammut,is he a free agent now or would we have to pay a transfer fee?

Strictly we'd have to pay a fee, but if they were desperate to reduce ongoing costs they might just release him if someone were willing to take him off their hands?

If i'm not mistaken, and i'm sure Mrs B can correct me, administrators are put in place simply to take over a business with the sole purpose of balancing the books and keeping the company in business.

They aren't in a position to demand anything. if someone comes in to take a high earner away then the administrators will terminate any contracts with immediate effect.

The only stumbling block would be;

1. Whether we could afford to take a high earner under our cap
2. Any payments due to a player for early release. Depends if the said player is money or rugby motivated!!

Will be interested to see any response to this as I only have a superficial grasp of this.

I always thought Administration was s Court ruling that wad effectively granted because there was a genuine possibility of Administrators' restoring the business to profability and preventing the business being gobbled up by creditors.

I could be wrong, but if Administrators come in it generally means there is credible prospects of salvaging a business

I think we'll keep the vast majority of the squad and the new company will be up and running very soon.

I just hope we keep hold of Sammut. He is under contract so there should be a fee if he does go. It is a very weak rumour at the moment though.

Okay, this Sammut rumour is a load of tosh in my eyes. It's not even a rumour. It seems to be you guys spinning a wish, getting excited and kidding yourselves.
It seems to have started when one poster mentioned that they're a fan of Michael Witt and would like them at the club, and another replying 'Yeah, or Sammut', and it's just ing snowballed from there. It's ridiculous. I don't see anything more in it than that, it's not gonna happen.
I'd happily be wrong, and I'll hold my hands up if anything happens, but nothing will happen.

Got told yesterday he was signing, source is usually right aswell. Still will only believe it when it happens.

sammut rumour is a wish that has spun out of control although i wish it was true, long is gona be playing for us next year thats from mike burnetts mouth and heard from the owner of jc services (rovers sponsor) that masons visa wasnt delayed but declined and they had to reapply and they aint 100% out the woods yet, imagine hes only trying to get my hopes up as a fc fan though. i imagine fc will save the quota spot open for a mid season signing if needed seeing as theres no one available

This is the rumour thread, its the off season and there aint much to talk about.
I also heard Hull are interested in Sammut from a very good source too but that doesnt mean to say we will sign him or anyone else unless its right for the club. We shall wait with baited breath..

I would imagine if Sammut wants to come the Administrators will just have to rip up his contract they aren't really in a position for demanding fees unless they can guarantee him future employment, same could be said for the whole team.
