Both teams were pretty dreadful and the least worst one won.
2 points is 2 points I suppose.
I'll take 4 points out the last 2 games while not playing well tbh.

First half was an awful game. Second half we just upped the gears. 2points in the bag. Week off and on we go

4 points from 2 games where we've been poor. That'll do for me.

Thought overall it was a poor performance especially the 1st half were we played with no speed, we’re so static in defence and pedestrian in attack. 2nd half we improved the speed we played at a little but Sataes impact made a big difference. We didn’t seem to be thinking and we’re trying to force play when we just needed to control things as even been poor we were making metres. Lanes performance for me was again questionable and I wonder why he hasn’t gone to reserves yet. Clifford had his worst game for us. Thought Dwyer did well when he came in and replaced Houghton. Satae was immense at start of the 2nd half. Thought Litten went well and is growing in to the 17. Thought Barron got off to a shakey start but dug in and did ok. Cam Scott carried on his good form too.
Savelio didn’t look great at the end with the ice around his knee. Hopefully Houghton & Carlos aren’t serious issues either and the 2 week break will do us some good in recovery.
Cas look very poor and looking at them & Wakey it’s Cas that look the most likely to finish bottom.

Whilst it wasn’t a good performance it’s still pleasing to get the 2pts snd keep us in the hunt.

I know we're short in 2nd rowers and on his day Savelio can be awesome but for me we can't resign him. In and out of the team far too often. Just not value for money.

Great to get the 2 points. Now only 2 points off the playoffs but our points difference makes it much tougher. Hopefully with the week off we get some energy back and work on making things a bit slicker. Big game up next against a seemingly improved Huddersfield side who will be looking to close the gap on us.

Really good to see the continued good form of Cam Scott. He's struggled to hold down a place for a few seasons but for me now is a definite first choice.

Cas were terrible, their game against Wakefield is going to be vital. To think some of our supporters wanted Andy Last to get the Hull job. Jesus.

According to Smith Carlos was more precautionary & could have come back on. Houghton had some discomfort in his rib are & could have come back on if needed. Nothing said about Savelio.

Think some are been overly critical today. 2 points in the bag is all that matters

We obviously had no Tex or McIntosh and had to deal with losing Carlos and houghton early. This obviously had a huge impact. Adding to that Scott going off for 10 for HIA and then losing Dre around 60-65 mins in.

Despite all that we ended up with quite a comprehensive win. We had Dwyer playing about 60 mins, lane in centre for a bit and our middles playing longer minutes.

Hopefully a week off will allow some people to get their bodies right and we can go get a W against the giants

Poor quality game but we'd have probably lost that a couple of months ago so progress is progress. Do appreciate though that the weather is bonkers today, hot sun to rain in the blink of an eye, which led to several players losing the ball as they hit the deck.

Showed again that renforcements in the forwards are needed, without Satae having a stormer things would have been very different.

Tbf to Last he's been lumbered with an old, slow side. That plot sounds familiar

A good post! I’ll take playing poorly and still getting the win. Finding different ways to win is a sign the team is on an upward trajectory I believe.

Our only defeats in June and July were to the top2, and we didnt discrace ourselves in either of those games.

Never thought Scott would be good enough at this level but I'm glad he's proving me wrong. He's come on leaps and bounds this season.

Thought Scott was excellent today and took both his tries well. With the head bandage and tape he certainly looked a proper old skool rugby player

He has reallt kicked on, still think he's a 2nd row not a centre due to lack of pace though.

I reckon he's faster than Carlos and Sutcliffe, although both aren't exactly flyers.

Some clowns in here at times. First half poor but still went in level. Our defence has been very good for weeks and was today. Got our attack going second half, we are going to massively miss Swift and Satae. Cam Scott getting better by the game, good too see Barron get a start.

Yep no denying losing Swift & Satae is going to be a big miss especially Swift.

Last season probably not but he had been working on adding weight and muscle to the detriment of the pace he had when younger.
This season he has been working very hard on his pace and its paying off

Fair points on Scott and tbf to all younger players in SL 2020 was a wasted year for their development given the break in the season and then the stop start nature of the covid absences

The first half was shoite house and a decent Leigh side would be 12 up at half time with us playing like that

The 2 points is not all that counts as playing shooite and winning catches you up pretty quick

Really feel for Andy Last, he's inherited an old, slow team, their best player is done for the season and the board seem oblivious/uninterested with their situation, looking over at Wakefield who seem to be throwing the kitchen sink at staying up must be demoralising.

Their cap management looks to be awful giving out multi year contracts/extensions to aging, past it players. Kenny Edwards got a 3 yr extension at 33/34 players like Vete and Widdop seem past it or not bothered. If they manage to stay up there's a hell of a rebuild needed.
