A poor display by Sharp today but he wasn't the only one.

Presumably the people who want him dropped also want all the other under-performers dropped.

no because sharp consistantly makes mistakes and is a liability, yeh other players where poor but are normally very reliable ffs

Briscoe dropped more high balls than Sharp and also produced a stupid offload and messed up chasing kicks back but he seem to escape threads about him.

Sharp's biggest error today was the missed tackle on Hodgson near the end.

To be fair Paul,Briscoe is one of our better players,who on his day can be outstanding.No one today can deny he had a horror show.Happens to even the best.

Whiting became a father last night. Congrats to him. Am I being really harsh, though, in saying that he should have been on the pitch today regardless?

Our right [iside [/ihas been an issue for years. It's never been sorted properly, although we look stronger there in defence with Whiting and Gleeson. Attacking-wise Sharp is strong, but his positioning and reading of the situation in defence is poor. It's not all him, though. Gleeson since his arrival has shown how a stong centre can shore up a wing. Today he was hurt after 10 minutes or so and didn't we know it. Back to square one.

I think Sharp - if not hung, drawn and quartered by the impatient faithful in the short term - has the talent to be great in the long term. But for now he needs nurturing and confidence building. And that means a rock solid centre and second row working with him.

Seem to remember a certain England game when we all (rightly) rushed to Briscoe's defence when he was left hight and dry by Hall and Shenton. I can't help feeling a little bit like this now for Sharp.

Sharp's not strong enough now to defend that wing. Just let's not make the mistake of lambasting him so much now that he never will be in the future. Because I'm convinced he could be great.

Briscoe's had two shockers all season. Wakefield and today, which I thought was similar to the Wakefield debacle in many other respects.

I texted a mate at half time saying "it's like the Wakefield game all over again"

Yup. Just got ourselves back into the game again so it really was a killer.

both wingers had shockers, still think sharp is left exposed at times although hodgsons last try he should have done better

I think you are being harsh mate.Family comes before a game of rugby.According to Eddie on the tele,his mrs had complications during the birth,so Whiting`s mind would not have been focused on the game anyway.

briscoe was poor today also but threads about him being poor dont keep cropping up like they do about sharp....briscoe is pretty consistant where as sharp is awful on to many occasions...

Fair enough. If all was well and smooth I'm sure Whiting would have had his hand up. I love the guy, but did think it was a bit strange. Was at the match, so didn't have Hemming's insight.

If phelps is injured then he'll probably play in the derby

The other under-performers have the ability to bounce back....Sharp has the ability to ball$ up again and again.

I have slagged Goldenballs off on here today and before.That wasnt his only mistake Paul...he was out of posistion for the opening 2 trys.

Just heard agar's interview and he said something along the lines of "without saying too much, it's important Richard is with his wife right now".
