| Quote ="Mrs Barista"Been saying similar for years. If you look at all the SL Grand Finals there's a pretty small percentage of participants that aren't the Big 3 (Saints, Wigan, Leeds) since the demise of Bradford. I think RL needs to improve competitive balance as a priority.
In SL we know who the favourites will be for the 2027 season already… if we keep the same general format. In the Championship the standard varies massively. Leigh scored 100 against mid-table York today. Internationally, England have don’t beat Australia and France don’t beat England.
It requires some imagination and probably some very difficult decisions.

Would Dennis Betts be worth a punt as an assistant or head of rugby?
This doesn't mean I want it to happen
Just an idea.
He'll know Brett from Widnes'"
Its a no from me, as great a player as Betts was and the success he had as a player at Wigan its not transitioned in to him being a Head Coach with a very good track record for success.

I don't think the amount of teams making the Grand Final has been too bad, in the last decade Saints, Wigan, Catalans, Salford, Warrington, Leeds and Cas have been there which is just over half the league and the finals themselves have been good games, its just Saints have started to dominate the last few years

| Let's say he goes this week, who do you bring in.
First choice for has to be Wane.
I wouldn't mind Tony Smith to steady the ship for a year, then move to DOR and help bring in his successor.

| I'd love to see Wane. Think it would be the wake up call that a few players badly need.
As you say I think Tony Smith would do well with us.
Michael Maguire's record in the NRL looks poor (I don't know enough about the NRL to know if there's any other circumstances involved in that) but he did well previously in Super League. He'd surely be better than what he have now.

| I've said it before, the appointment of another unproven head coach was a gamble and it hasn't paid off.
If my records are correct, ten times we've been behind at half time this season and we've gone on to lose every one of them.
Nice bloke but out of his depth and unable to motivate the team.

| Ok maybe Hodgson isn't the answer. But he's not the rot that seems to envelope this club. Getting rid of him will leave the main problem in situation. Some of the players today where shameful. Never mind the coach there where beyond terrible. Hodgson isn't blameless but the rot needs sorting

| No further Pass or Merchandise purchases from me until he is replaced, can't keep throwing money after bad and Pearson doesn't seem to want to listen to the fans, when was the last time the club held a forum or even sent us a survey?

| Nice guy who is suited to an admin role. Not a head coach.
Why stand on the sidelines if you’re not actually going to interact with anyone?
No more assistants please

Hodgson definitely is not the answer and whilst he may not be the rot he is part of the issues we have seen for 2 seasons now. It is clear for anyone to see he is way out of his depth and just isn’t the coach to cure/sort/resolve the issues and problems.
Whilst he isn’t the one dropping balls etc he is the one that is picking the side each week and supposedly coaching them every week. To have one performance like today in a season is bad enough but the amount we have had yet again this season is quite frankly inexcusable.
Next season I just don’t see being any different as neither he, Purtill or Ellis have shown they can do the job.

Exactly all Hodgson did was stand there looking shell shocked, clueless and totally void of answers. I’ve watched him closely since mid part of the season and during a game he hardly communicates or directs anything or anyone. You look at other coaches and they are all constantly talking and making notes etc but Hodgson just looks like a wax work dummy. There is a real lack of direction and it starts or rather stops with him as head coach.

Agreed and unless Pearson pulls his head out the sand and pulls the plug on Hodgson he will have very little revenue coming in from the fans as they won’t be there.
I would have thought Pearson would have learnt a lesson by backing the last coache for two years too long but clearly not.

I was in the West stand today and could see Hodgson stood on the touchline arms folded all game. He didn't interact with anyone as far as I could see for the entire match. He looked like he'd won a competition to be there. He's a complete joke.

McGuire won the NRL with Souths.

As bland and insipid as his team'"
He just had no clue or answers to anything and it’s alarming. To go into next season with Hodgson still at the helm will cost the club and Pearson massively and it could be a mistake that there is no recovering from.
There is no identity or in the team or any aspect. Instead of player the lads who played well and showed desire against Toulouse Hodgson brought back Houghton, McIntosh and continued with Johnstone who for me along with Gale and Smith were appalling.
The club is in a relegation battle already next season if Hodgson stays on as Coach. The likes of Hoy, Trueman, Sutcliffe and Dwyer ain’t going make much difference under the current Coach and our second row looks so weak it’s unreal.
Another season wasted season and next season will pretty much be the same by giving an out of his depth guy the chance to pick players for next season.

| This season's abject failure sits squarely at Hodgson's feet and the ensuing loss of club revenue sits squarely at Pearson's for propagating this farce.
The squad that Hodgson has assembled has no right to challenge for the big prizes, but it is emphatically better then the dross we've supported and painfully swallowed.
I'm happy, with what we have, to accept we would lose more then win, but in those losses they should be gallant defeats.
The team are unmotivated, confused and do not fear any consequence to bad performance.
I dont buy into this "rot" in the club. A RL player has a short and finite career and they cant gamble with having bad seasons and poor application. They are badly instructed and managed.
Hodgson out. Now.

To be quite honest don’t think we would or could be any worse if we asked the tea lady to take over from Hodgson/Purtill/Ellis for the impact or difference they made or make.
