How long do you think it actually takes professional rugby league players to learn new moves? Is it difficult to achieve it in the couple of months run up in pre-season?

very optimistic for this coming year , all we need is a bit of luck with injuries and we can fly this year we really can.
Having Long, Horne and Kirk back to full fitness will be like having three new players alone, then add that to Sharp and Westy and i think we are filling gaps very well indeed.
You know Westy will be such a huge player for FC he will become legendary i can tell you, his skill level for a young fella is quite breathtaking and such a huge unit also which will add even more weight to an already impressive pack , so put all that together with fit halves and all of a suddne those guys with real pace will score for fun!!
Of all seasons i have been involved in RL I can say that FC look the real deal for me this year and the signing of westy will become a master stroke i think!!
Top three for me

yes it can be a long job given the previous clubs moves that are impregnated onto them which you have to irradicate first , some learn quicker than others however when your bringing in so many new players and more importantly play makers like we did last year it is a complex job

I dont believe it pal, sorry. The pre-season is more than enough time for players to learn the new moves!

at this level with so many new players of different nationalities coming in all at once it was hard work believe me, hence why the continuity this season from last is such a hingepin to the team .
I would be surprised this season if we slip up against the teams we did last year ...
Although given the team Salford have put together they will be a hard team to beat this year thats for sure!!

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Kick! can be very complicated and tricky to learn, especially when your wearing mitts.

I know! Three question marks together almost makes a huge unit of question marks! Although I thought my usage of them was simply breathtaking!

Long and Horne are way past it imo. We'll be luck to get 10 games out of them each.

Sharp and Westerman have potential, to say he will become a legend before hes even played a game for Hull is ridiculous.

Ive never been Yeamans biggest fan, to hot and cold for me.

I can't believe it when people say that halfbacks are past it at such a young age - look at the best half-backs in the world and they're often still playing in their mid-thirties.

Both of their bodies are past top grade RL IMO

I think Langer is a great example of someone with serious injuries that is still playing at the top level. Admittedly they would probably need at least one season free of injuries (a) to have a chance of regaining their true form and (b) for us to be able to pass a fair judgement.

Come on man Horne and Long have never been close to been the best half back in the world. Its freaks like Johns, Fitler, Langer etc that go on to mid thirties and can still play not players like Horne and Long.

Long could defy the years because the guy is meant to be our on field brain and lead us. Many good players have adapted their game as they've got older and managed to play the game in the proverbial dinner suit. Horne isn't that type of player. He relied on strength and reasonable pace. He's been playing more years than most too and it will be a big surprise to see him regain any form for me. That doesn't help Long either.

I'm not saying they're the best in the world (although I think Long is definitely up there) - what I was saying is that they're not necessarily past their best.

But you did watch the start of the season this year didn't you when Horne played very well. That was less than a year ago. Why would he start the season on great form and then people write him off as if he's past it less than 9 months later? A season free of injuries for Richard (a long shot I know on his recent luck) and I think we'll see a very good player return to our team.

I didn't see it that way but the problem is even if that was considered back to form he/it looked fragile. I hope you're right and he has a good season, just can't see it.

Well, my fingers are crossed for him.
