That would be an interesting take, having watched alot of him last season, he was probably the best player I saw at academy and Reserve level, he is still only young. Might be his attitude but I can't believe Smith doubts his ability. Only a young kid, hope we give him a new deal and try and develop him on and off the field. Think we could regret letting him go. |

Exclusive: Three Super League clubs have entered the race to sign a Huddersfield Giants player for next year.
rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands Hull FC, Hull KR and Castleford are all interested in prising prop Owen Trout from Huddersfield for 2024.
Trout is off-contract at the John Smith's Stadium at the end of this season and it is believed the Giants are keen to keep him, and have offered him a new deal.
But it is understood they face competition from a number of rivals.
According to sources, Hull FC are the front-runners to land the forward for next season.
It is believed they have offered a three-year deal to Trout.
The 23-year-old came through at Leeds but made just three appearances for the Rhinos before joining Huddersfield in 2020.
The highly-rated front-rower or second-rower has made over 50 appearances for the Giants.
He has also played once for the England Knights and is the younger brother of Keighley forward Kyle.

Savelio has obviously fallen out with smith but he’s now missed about 4 games and is a hull player until he leaves. I’m all for upholding discipline but maybe playing players like Jordan lane over him is more damaging to the side. The way we’ve been playing has so many fans considering walking away and the coach is deciding not to play one of our most talented players without comment.
How about he starts punishing players who are delivering performances that aren’t even NCL quality. I just can’t see what Savelio can have done to be barred from selection and moved on, if it was that bad the news would’ve gotten out about what he had done.

Certainly isnt fitness as Savelio has always been near the top in training and he is now or was nearing full match fitness so has to be a rift with Smith.
