In fairness to Smith it would probably do more harm to our young lads putting them out against a Saints side in red hot form.

Are Carlos and Sutcliffe not allowed to play in the same team, they seem to both pick up injuries every other week.

To be honest I wouldn't play anymore youngsters this week than we have too, let the players who have put us in this position take the hammering.

I'd have gone the opposite way, play the kids, give them the experience and if it's a cricket score so what.

I fear the worst! It's difficult not too!! Saints have to win, and win BIG!!!

As things stand, if we make an assumption that Wigan and Catalans both win, then Saints have to win by 62 points, plus whatever Catalans winning margin is, in order to give themselves any hope of snatching a top-two spot in the final standings, which in turn will most likely have implications for them in week 2 of the play-offs.

Given our legendary capacity for towel-throwing the moment the going gets tough, then this has one-way traffic written all over it!!

If the final margin is below 60 then either we've dug in (for at least a short while) or Saints have bombed it by getting over-excited trying to play one pass too many.

For any Fc fan who is making the journey over there, I don't know whether to admire them or question their sanity!!! This is as close to a given result as top flight sport can realistically aspire to!
