I'm sorry but we were pretty much a one man team, whatever you think about him we wouldn't have been as successful at that time, proved by how we plummeted when he left.
He had a much bigger impact then Raynor or Brough, or Swain, Horne or Kearney for that matter, if you don't agree watch the season review DVDs for those seasons.

I said at the time we should have given him whatever he asked for at the time, he was in a position to hold the club to ransom.

he's right. Attacking wise cooke was our only weapon. Look at our attacking problems since he left. Love him or hate him we were lead around by him to a couple of pretty successful seasons

He has a big influence while at Hull but to say we where a one man team is incorrect, for eaxample watch the 3005 challenge game against Bradford at home, our forwards (Thacks, Carvell) etc where superb against a fantasic pack, without them we wouldn't have got into the postions for Cooke to set up the trys.

Also our 2006 campaign was built on strong defence, did Cooke make all these tackles.

Any one player can have an influence but he can't do it without massive help from his teammates, any who says otherwise hasn't watched the game close enough and can't have played.

Cooke was fantastic for us and he fitted well into our team and he and Horne were a very good partnership.

The only shame here is that the game didn't get to see the best of his abilities during what should have been his best years. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.

Cooke regrets leaving Hull, despite what he says in the media. Anybody who knows him personally will tell you the same.

He's a good kid, just made some bad choices. Shame, he could of been an FC legend.

FTR though as a Rovers fan I will never regret signing him - IMO we'd be in the Championship now if it wasn't for Cooke.

Yes he was a very good player for us, but he was just an important part of a well performing team..... we may not have won the cup without Cooke but we needed 12 other people on the pitch at the time to play the match!! It's a TEAM game.

Or are you saying that Salford, Quins and such like would win the CC had Cooke been in there team...

He did well for us, Chapter finished.
He did well for Rovers (for one year, as did the rest of their squad), Chapter finished.
Career finished.

He's now just a nobody on the scrapheap. Good riddance, and FWIW he's not even a nice guy. Pr1ck to the core!!!

I know him enough that in the days when he was turning up pi55ed for training and was dropped from the derby he felt like i was his only friend in Crown as he followed me round all night trying to get a conversation out of me while i was out with my proper friends.

I know him that well as he was hitting on my girlfriend, while he knew i was going out with her... But being as nice as pie to my face.

He's a 1st class ar5ehole that has no respect for anyone or anything other than the contents of his wallet!!!

His new girlfriend is pregnant to him and he'll need to find a club or a job soon to support them. I can just see next weeks title of Jeremy Kyle: "Girlfriend of 2 months is pregnant with my child I have no where to live as I rent out my house and no-one will employ me, what should I do?"
