Not again.
We have nearly 9,500 season ticket holders presumably happy with Friday night rugby. Attendances are fantastic too. You will never please all of the people all of the time but clearly the vast majority of supporters prefer Friday night rugby.

But don't you think we could get higher attendances with more away support we could get on a Sunday.

You can't prove it one way or the other. All you can say is that we've had 2 diabolical years on the pitch and have a record number of passholders. What do you think the motivation was for us, Leeds, Saints and Wigan to move to Friday nights? Would all of us be deliberately opting for sub-optimal attendances?

Corporate sales.
Another thing to bear in mind is that Friday night games will have a significantly smaller impact on away attendances at Leeds, Saints, and Wigan due to the proximity of other clubs. For them the upside of increased corporate sales came without a significant downside. Not sure the same is true for Hull but I assume that someone has checked the figures and we are better off on balance.

For me it was a killer. I can't make Friday games, period. When we had a mix I could make a decent proportion of home games - enough so that in 2007/2008 I actually bought a pass. In 2008/2009, when we moved to all Fridays, I was one of the handful who returned their passes.
I'd like us to go back to a mix of Friday and Sunday games but I know it isn't going to happen.

I'm not saying that wasn't a motivating factor, but you can't say that the move to Fridays has materially affected our gates adversely either. I don't get the point on Saints/Wigan. Saints have close proximity to Wigan and Warrington and are an hour-ish from the West Yorkshire clubs, getting on for 2 hours from the 2 Hull clubs. Not that different from Hull with close proximity to Rovers an hour-ish to the West Yorkshire clubs and 2 hours to the Wigan/Saints/Warrington.

History suggests not (with a couple of exceptions).
Some examples of Sunday attendances:
2005 (average 10639)
Wakefield 10805
Widnes 9078
Salford 8929
2006 (average 10863)
Wakefield 11860 (first home game of the season)
Wigan 12722
Hudds 10642
Salford 10172
2007 (average 14606 with 2 derbies)
Leeds 14256
Hudds 12094
Salford 13338
We've generally played the "big" non derby games on a Friday anyway.

our crowds have grown to record levels while playing on a friday night, so its clearly not been an issue for the majority

| If we went back to Sundays we'd sell out every week, we did last time and it's not like our attendences are on the up.

| Sky have a gap on Friday night.
Sky money more then compensates the few 100 that come off attendances.
That's the reason its a friday, its very simple.

If you look at the statistic from seasons passed Augusts games are a good indicator, when we played on Sundays they were abysmal dropping below 10,000 on a regular basis whilst although effected they hold up well on Fridays. I was dead against it but have now got used to it and like the weekend free! It won't happen people have voted with their passes! All the best supported clubs play on Fridays!

Hence the last sentence in my post.
My preference for Sundays is purely down to personal circumstances, and judging by the many threads we've had on the subject the same is true for just about everyone - regardless of which day is preferred. I wouldn't advocate a move to all Sunday games as there are people who struggle with that day also. The mix of Fridays and Sundays seems the 'fairest' option but I appreciate that this caused issues with the corporate market.
My big problem with this all along was the ham-fisted way it was introduced and the baloney reason given. If there had been advanced warning and an honest explanation I reckon a lot of the heat and light could have been avoided.

Exactly the same for me. Much prefer having the whole weekend free. Its a pain when organising a night out with work etc as they tend to be Friday nights but I prefer night games anyway.
