We owe Motu a great debt. He always put his body on the line, played through the pain barrier and we shoved him to fullback (A NZ capped number 9, remember), the most demanding of positions.

Hope he gets back to his best and earns another Super League contract.

A fully fit Motu would be worth a spot in our 17, probably on the bench for his utility value. Can cover pretty much any position other than prop ot 2nd row. People saying he wouldn't get a game are deluded.

I wouldnt have Motu over Houghton. In his prime I would but not now.

Think he means that as a versatile utility/cover player he'd be pretty much guaranteed to get a game or three over the course of the season.

Saw Motu last week.He is still limping quite badly.

Fair enough then. If Motu can get fit and we have the space on the cap then he could be useful to have in the squad, but with no injuries, then he wouldnt be in the 17 for me.

Each to their own. I mean fully fit. He's only in his late 20's so still in his prime IMO.

I know hes had his injuries but he hasnt done anything for 2 years. Dont think hell ever be the same player as he was in 2006/2007.

Much as I like Houghton he isn't anywhere near as good as a fully fit Motu and doesn't have the versatility anyway

Hes had games for us in those 2 years and didnt do anything. Hes getting older now so injuries will start coming even more often.

Think hes older than that to be honest.

If he can get fully fit he's a great player. Was in great form prior to the first knee injury. Big IF on the injury front though
