I'm sorry but I think the FC board should have had the balls to cough up and pay for a quality half-back like Dobson; there aren't many of them out there and they don't come cheap but look at the way Dobson is running the show at Rovers (much as he did at Catalans and Wigan).

I'd rather they'd spent the money on a good scrum-half than on Berrigan and whilst I accept he was rated the best player in the world by some in Oz at the time we signed him, he hasn't set the world alight at Hull for me.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm expecting to see FC get their s handed to them on a plate on Friday.

Dobson is rapidly becoming the most overrated player in SL.

Couple of average games and suddenly there slagging berro of . Last season he carried us at times , yeh he hasnt done great this season but he is still quality. the play the ball is very slow for him lately and needs players who are going to run on to the ball so he can get some momentum .

How do you come to that conclusion on Dobson

No genuine FC fans are slagging him off, more questioning his apparent loss of form, but I guess time will tell.

Quite frankly Berrigan is no where near his "freak" tag we heard so much about , dont get me wrong he works very hard indeed when he wants to but that does not make him anywhere near the best hooker in SL im afraid.
But as shown previously he will tick if the pack is dominant like Tickle does but disapears when it gets slow going ALA Quins

Have to say that overall I've been pretty disappointed by Berrigan in a black & white shirt. I expected much more from him, certainly more direction and a quicker play the ball, he offers no leadership whatsoever. Not what I was expecting from supposedly one of the worlds top hookers (as we were led to believe), in fact he often looks quite disinterested (although he's not alone there)

By reading what's being posted about him on here and comparing it to his actual performances over the last couple of seasons.

He's a decent player, but not as good as many are now claiming him to be.

suppose it's a bit different to Brisbane when he's had Pietro and the likes around him, does far too much tackling and our ptb are far too slow for him to be able to shoot off from dummy half

His performances in SL(Catalan, Wigan and HKR)have been up there with the top scrum halves in the competion, dont think there is much doubting that. You only have to ask the fans of the clubs he has played for.

Top of the Albert Goldthorpe Medal standings aswell in the RL Express, he must be doing something to impress so many.

If that's the case, why the hell hasn't he been rested in order to recover??! FFS it isn't like we haven't got any hookers to take his place

Now for the facts! Dobson did well for catalans(in a then poor team) he also did well at wigan(again in a poor team) he then tried to make it in oz and failed (was nothing but back up) Rovers took a punt on him as they were more desperate for a SH than us (we still had dykes) and had more money left on the cap, the gamble paid off for them. Still think he goes missing in the big games. I know rovers fans will point to the saints game, but considering they ripped him apart last season he owed them.

I prefer to form my own opinions. Ta anyway.

And that opinion is that, decent player though he is, he is currently being overrated.


I'm not saying he's a poor player. Just not as good as some think.
