I'm still really failing to see this so-called blunder. Some people really look for things that aren't there. IMO of course.

That isn't an option.
Nobody is actually saying they would, simply pointing out that an involuntary levy on the ticket is not really a donation.

I suppose some would. Makes no odds to me, I've got a pass.
There's been allsorts on at my work today but I'll bet my pound to a penny it won't say the staff raised it, the cheque to Comic Relief will come from the company.

Can you imagine if EVERY donation and method of raising was announced
"This pound was from little Timothy who cleaned his grandads car and then paid to enter the KC"........
Time to move on surely???

A fuss shouldn't be kicked up about the fact we are forced to donate (it is only £1 at the end of the day) but I definitely think Hull FC need to look at the press they are doing regarding the donation. There's not one mention of fans paying an extra £1 that's going to be donated in that article and it's wrong that they're claiming the donation as their own.
A simple statement like "Hull FC and Hull KR fans show their support for Children In Need by paying an extra £1 for the derby game" would suffice, but I must say I am dissapointed that any company (it being Hull FC in this case) would consider this a charitable gesture on their part.

There hasn't been a single person who has said they didn't want to make the donation, just that they would have preferred the club not to dress itup as some huge jesture on their behalf.
Will they be saying "Hull FC raise £200k for Richard Horn'es testemonial"??? (and yes, I hope and think he will get somewhere near that)

No but it will possibly stated that his testimonial committee helped richerd raise £200k where as all they will of done is the organising.
For this to carry on shows one thing and that is we are doing well on the field as this is all people have to moan about.I think the dressing up argument is silly the details are only on the club website and everyone who goes on there know exactly where the money is being raised from. Now when the clubs on the children in need programme as I beleave there are due to be then I expect them to let people know the ways in which all the monies where made.

| Isn't that the correct wording though. it says Hull FC 'raise' rather than 'donate'. To me if I raise an amount of money for charity through an event, that says that I have collected the money, it doesn't imply that i have personally donated it.
I think however the club could have raised more in an alternative way (collection out/inside the ground) that gave the non season ticket fans a choice rather than been obliged to make a donation & season ticket holders would obiously give something as well.

A collection would not have got anywhere near £15k+ IMO.
Great point about the club "raising the money" though which they clearly have.

Hopefully the club may realise that lots of people have already given as much as they want to give and/or are willing to give and thus they wont force people to pay an extra £1 to get in.... oh hang on a minute!

| But surely to do a collection at the match would make adding on £1 to the matchday ticket inappropriate does it not? I'm all for making a donation through the club via a ticket sale which is a great idea but it has to be SEEN to be taken from ALL fans including season ticket holders.
Whatever the wording of who raised/donated what & how much it is plain to see that the money comes from the fans and not directly from the club so I dont see any problem there.

| Moaning over £1 extra!
You moaning buggers!
That £1 might mean nothing to you but means a lot to other people in the world.
If youre rich enough to go watch a sports team, have some over priced food and pints before hand, and pay £40 for this seasons shirt - you can afford £1 to help someone else!
Rather than make your JD and coke a double - put it towards something worthwhile!
Morons!
