£100-150k transfer fees are not a small risk in rugby league. It's great that we seem to have been bought out by someone willing to invest in us, but that doesn't mean we should expect him to be some sort of sugar daddy ready to fritter away money on short term signings just to cause a stir. Lynch could make a difference to us for a couple of years, the same £150k spent on younger players and/or their development could make a difference to us for 10 or more. Spend money on transfer fees if the right players are available, not just for the sake of it.
And as for Lynch taking offence at being in the same bracket as Cusack, Cusack has an NRL win to Lynch's SL win, with a further 3 GF appearances under his belt. The difference is that you've been watching Lynch in his prime whereas we saw Cusack with his best days behind him and approaching retirement, but you're then actually suggesting we do pretty much the same for Lynch and pay a transfer fee for the privilege.

| If we sign another forward im sure he'll be a lot better than Lynch and will be a someone who'll be here for the long term and not at the end of his career.

| Lynch is one of the best fowards in SL, I'd sign him up for 2 years.
The club however need to sign up a couple of youngish props, as at the end of 2012, we could have no props if Moa and O Meley go back to the NRL and Radford retires.
Thats why the club are maybe looking players like O Carrol for next year.

| As we know that we need a prop for next season and most likely a backrower (because I don't see Agar giving Green/Cunningham/etc too much gametime), what would people think to the signings of Ryan Bailey and Brett Ferres?
Both English. Both decent. Both OOC. Both better than the majority of other OOC players. Bailey isn't popular, don't think I have to explain why, but he's not that bad at the game. Ferres is also generally good, and would be a good interchange for a starting backrow of Manu, Westerman, Tickle.

I personally would hate the idea as I don't rate either of them. We need to get out of the habit of signing mediocre players (plus Bailey is a prize tit).

Both are penalty machines who make Lauaki look like a saint.

| I'd take Tom Burgess - think he is going to be a very very good prop forward. They are the types of player you need to spend money on

I think if you ask Lynch he'd be pretty pleased with the comparison. Have a look at Cusack's record. He was a decent well respected forward in the toughest competition there is and was successful. Just too old by the time he got here but looked ok in his final year in Oz.

| Ferres is average and is very prone to giving away penalties.
Bailey isn't a bad prop, superb defence, but average going foward for a big lad.
We should be looking at better and hopefully younger players than these two.
Bridge, O Carrol and another Aussie Foward would be good business IMO.
With Gleeson, Obst, Dowes, lauaki, Washbrook, Long and Fitz out.
That will leave us with 7 in and 7 out I think.

Amor been offered deal by Rovers along with Donaldson from Bradford..more than likely announced very shortly, more bargain basement shopping but at least with potential...

The thing is though Bradford would not just let there best player leave for nothing as that would be bad buisness.
Some cash and I think we would get him. Our pack really does need some more grunt and power and some high profile signings to send a clear message out.

| Just looked at Lynch's stats, there are very impressive, including 8 trys scored this year, great stats for a prop, i'd pay a small fee for him, Pearson has the money so why not, doubt we can sign better from within SL.
Whitehead is a good player, but like Lynch doubt Bradford would sell us him unless they have money troubles.
It sounds like the Griffin to Leeds deal might have fallen through, because they have to pay a transfer fee, i would be tempted to put an offer in for him myself, he a good SL prop at the right age.

Leeds have signed Richard Moore on a 3 year deal
Lynch is head and shoulders above him now and probably will be for the next 3 years. If we could get him it would be a great signing.
I dont think we have a chance getting Lynch, as Bradford need players like him to keep their fans (almost) happy, even if they do have money worries, similar to Cas and Chase.
