The Allams want to turn West Park into a Retail complex when there is already significant excess capacity across the city and multiple covenants on the land. The bad blood between the council and the Allams shows no sign of being resolved. And it would cost much more to build a 14k stadium than the Allams would pay as a deal sweetener.'"
Langtree park only cost £25m. I reckon the doc would pay that. Council wouldn't have to fork out a penny and you could include a training site next door incorporating the athletics.

I see what your saying but here's another thought...... Wouldn't we receive some compensation on our lease contract? To be honest I don't know any sort of figures what we pay but do know we would have to be payed off, would we be talking a serious amount?

That was nearly fifteen years ago. All the board, the coach, most of the backroom staff and all but two of the players have gone and yet people like you still go on about it.
Who has said that?'"
Oh come on its a general feeling that has been around the club for years. Everyone from the coach to the players to the fans expects us to just turn up at most games against the lesser fancied teams and we'll just walk it. That's one of the reasons why were so ! Look at the team now. Throws the all around a bit but put no ground work in at all. They just expect other teams to part like the red sea.
The club is a joke and imo getting back to being a community could be achieved in our own smaller ground. The KC is possibly now a massive hinderence to any progress. Players probably think they've reached the big time just because they play in it (or that's how it seems) even if its now less than half empty for the majority of games these days
MASSIVE MASIVE changes are needed at this club from top to bottom if its ever going to achieve anything in the near, medium or even long term future

I disagree with your interpretation.
Our fans have experienced some success in relative terms over the last decade - a Challenge Cup win, 4 major finals, making the play-offs in the years that didn't involve Agar. To get close to silverware of itself creates optimism that we're not miles off. Add in the fact we have been in better shape financially than several clubs in the competition, and have one of the largest fanbases, there is a justifiable basis for optimism in the medium term. I suggest you take a look back at some of the pre season threads about expectations however as you seem to be claiming an element of arrogance in our fanbase which isn't ubiquitous. How many posters on here, for example, as a % of the total, predicted a top 2, or even top 4 finish? You suggest it's a majority. I disagree.
You're saying Rovers are a real community club, and we are not. How do you define that? Bringing local lads through the academy into first team? There's evidence FC do a better job of this currently. Hours in local schools? I think we do this quite well, but if you've evidence Rovers do more of this, I'm happy to be proven wrong. The Hull FC Community Foundation seems at least as good as the Rovers one in terms of learning/training projects, supporting health/education work, and reportedly reaches 50,000 people a year. You can compare the community sections on each website if you are interested in learning more.
I don't disagree that a smaller ground would create a better atmosphere on matchday, but that doesn't generate a "community". In reality a ground is used 13 times a year; the loss of the Alliance competition means the opportunity to engage with the club on a frequent basis is less than it's ever been. Fans' connections to the club are driven as much now through social media as they used to be through regular attendance for reserve games, and that's a challenge for every club in my opinion.

Fc have a presence in Sirius school every day and the school has just been awarded outstanding status bu ofstead and the nucleus of our u-16 and u-19s have come from Sirius. We have brought through Shaul,Lineham,Crooks,Kent,Hadley,Bowden,Green all to 1st team, something our neighbours can only dream of doing.

Don't think any of them players came through Sirius and most of them did not come through the normal pathway.
Apart from a few exceptions I do not think we will produce much talent via Sirius route. Eggs mainly in one basket approach does not work

| I think a 16k ground would be great for Hull. It would definitely intensify the atmosphere when you are down at your average gate of around 10k but also allow for the big gates. I think playing at the KC has run it's course, and has lost Hull FC it's identity as a club. It would go a long way to re-establishing that, I think, anyway.

| why the feck should we be considering moving out of the city..madness!!!
Moving to Costello is a massvely bad idea..period, dragging the club outside the city boundary never mind miles away from fans whom have walked to games for years is just utterly bonkers and will disenfranchise a lot of fans for a very long time.
Some posters on here clearly have no concept how much a 14,000 stadium would cost to build nor the annual running costs..and 14k..seriously, talk about limiting your business model..we'd be in debt for 30+ years paying it off..forget about getting even 25% of the money from the council..that's a pipe dream of epic proportions even if the council were in a position to or were even wanting to 'sell off' the KC, people grossly overestimate how much money we would get.
How many pubs are there within 1/4 mile of Costello..one that I know of, how many around the KC? If you think that beer/food prices are going to be any cheaper..think again, they'll be a massive debt to service (plus the interest)
Open ended stadiums..you get a lot wetter when it rains, you're more effected by the wind, in the relative open area around Costello you are far more open to the elements and so any games early in the season are MORE likely to be called off due to this..the costs to be met by Hull FC..not the management company.
And if people think that a better atmosphere is created just because you move to a smaller ground then that's a small team backward thinking mentality. A small ground doesn't automatically create a great atmosphere, the Boulevard was a 20K plus ground not that much smaller and far more open than the KC..people forget how crap atmosphere's were when the team were average or worse..
So if you want to move out of town, if you want the club to be in massive debt for decades and still not guarantee a successful team or a great atmsphere then knock yourselves out.. I for one would rather stay at the KC.

| Quote ="knockersbumpMKII"why the feck should we be considering moving out of the city..madness!!!
I for one would rather stay at the KC.'"
Steady on!
Since when has the number of pubs in an area been a consideration for building a stadium?
I go to enjoy the rugby not get pi$$ed.
For the record though Fiveways could easily be within walking distance for some along with AP on Anlaby common and rumours of Dominics on Anlaby Common been turned into a pub/restaurant. There are also pubs heading towards Hessle Road.
As i said earlier KC is feeling less and less like 'home' as signs that we actually play there are being taken down by the Doctor.
