| Maybe "Berro" isn't quite as good as the superstar that some fans would like to think that he is ???
We've been a little spoilt at hooker over the last four or five seasons and, IMHO, he has big shoes to fill and he isn't good enough to fill them.

What I would do to have a fit Swainy back in our team !!
(Was probably on less money aswell )

They are different types of hooker but you can certainly compare the value that they add to the team. What Swain offered in his strenghts was of far more value to the team than the "value" that Berrigan adds.
Swain's leadership, sheer hard work and just general all round class is something that we have missed since he left and berrigan's input does not even nearly make up for that.

I think we need to judge Berro next season - last year he was played at 7 most of the time, this year he is carrying an opeartion requiring injury and a poor tactical game plan. Next year, we have one of the most experienced 7's in the game, potentially one of the worlds best full backs signing, and hopefully players that will play to the gameplan that Agar is trying to get this dire lot to play to - so lets judge him then.
Remember that Swain played in an exciting Hull side, so it is unfair to judge effectively

In your opinion.
Berrigan was never ever going to be the same type of player as Swain, Berrigan is a far better "footballer" than Swain ever was. Like I said, incredibly different, emphasised by the fact that Swain only ever played 9, Berrigan has played, and won plaudits, at 6,7,9 and 4, usually from the bench as well!

| Do you people who slag Berrigan watch him in a game ??????
He very rarely misses a tackle and is the only one of our players who knows how to tackle around the legs
Reckon he must be right at the top of our tackle count every week plus you could not wish to meet a nicer bloke
Also he does look dangerous when he takes on the line
Give him his op now get sorted for next year
You cannot compare Berrigan to Swain altogther different players

| Comparing a number 9 against a number 9, it's Swain all the way.
Berro has been/is a good player but Swain was also a great leader/media face for the club.
How we miss his on & off field guidance.

| Swainy was a quality player and leader but had the advantage of
being in settled team . If you put berro in that team im sure you would have seen his real quality. Berro for me has done well for hull and in a team that has struggled massively .

| Berrigan is a quality player, prior to him coming over here he was one of the first names on the Queensland/Australian team sheets. He (along with Fitz) has a Churchill medal and was regarded by Wayne Bennett as pivotal to Brisbanes success. This doesn’t happen to ‘ordinary’ players.
Since coming to Hull he must be wondering what he’s done wrong. From working under one of the most respected coaches of all time to this, a team full of disgruntled individuals ‘led’ by, at best, a National League coach.

It doesn;t, but we have this knack of making quality players look ordinary when playing for us, and ordinary players look like world beaters when playing against us!
Coach? Board? Cancer at the club? I dunno, but it has to be sorted very very soon!

| If you take one world class player and surround him with dross, he's always going to struggle. Berrigan has done as much as can be expected given what he's had to work with and the fact that he's playing with injections. Anyone who can't see that knows little about the game, IMO.
If we had a dominant pack and a capable halfback, you'd see a different Berrigan.

With a quality halfback pairing Berro would get less attention in a game for starters. A team facing us know they do not have to worry about the halfbacks doing anything spectacular so they can be extra vigilant for players like Berro.
