You have pointed out the common misconception that many have on here about our style of play for the past 7 years. I lost count of the many who claimed Agar's tactics were 5 drives and a kick. You only have to look on YT about our games at Wakey / Cas / against rovers in that ear (2010-2011) and we played some great stuff.

The key down side was our kicking game. We got pinned on our own half far too much, resulting in the safety first rugby which any coach would advocate when coming out of our own 20 yard area.

The odd game we played some good rugby (When Webster came as coach it got better), but overall it was awful rugby particularly against the better sides.

It does sound about right. Thats about 17n half stone in old money. But vidot at 118 is truly massive!!

I'd be reluctant to pay 200 skittles for him tbh. I know he's young and still learning the game, but he's hugely overrated.

The rumour of him coming to us is a complete non starter I reckon. But if it did happen at the expense of giving HTW or Dean a chance I would be very disappointed.

Difference being, not obviously being able to compare the 2 directly but Salford were willing to let Sneyd leave yet seem reluctant to allow Fage to do the same.

There didn't want Sneyd to leave that's why we had to pay a big fee.

I agree he is overrated, he is a good runner, but doesn't have the skill set to make a top half like Sneyd has the potential to.

If Wikipedia is right, TF turns 21 in August and MS turns 25 in February. In terms of potential, TF is well ahead imo. The thing about potential of course is realising it - it might take a long time and it might not happen at all.

Again Fages doesn't have the full skill set, his kicking, organising and passing skills are not good enough to make a top half, if he doesn't have them a 21, I'd doubt they will develop too much now.
Sneyd was held back at Salford by not giving him the opportunity or playing out of position.

But surely that goes double for a player in his mid-twenties.

If you're saying Sneyd is almost the complete package now, then fair enough. But talking about him in terms of potential or his having being held back at Salford maybe implies you think he isn't?

From what I've seen he's an exciting player, but one who doesn't always/often put his stamp on a game. That said, I do think he was and is a good fit for Hull. You needed somebody who is closer to fully developed, without going to the other extreme of signing another oldie.

Sneyd just needs some consistency in his game. He can kick, pass and run. Fages is a runner, more of a Pryce/Horne type player.

Maybe would work well with Sneyd, but would rather stick with HTW, who I expect will play a few SL games next season.

Aye, finding those more rounded halfbacks is difficult.
