Normally we wait until December for the annual recycling of this rumour. Still, he's worth £200m or something. Let's keep this nonsense going.

Such fun!

In all seriousness though, who would entertain buying a RL club right now?
Also on the ISC point, is Lee Jenkinson still in charge of Elite Pro Sports? He had an old Hull FC training top on on Insta this week.

Did a great job for us for quite a few years IIRC. Just wondering whether they might be able to support with the loss of ISC. Not a top priority right now but shirt income is a big revenue stream

It is difficult, especially the wingers but I think I'd go
Shaul
Naulago
Tuimavave
Griffin
Fonua
Kelly
Sneyd
Taylor
Houghton
Satae
Jones
Ma'u
Sao
Connor
Bowden
Savelio
Ellis
Tough on Faraimo who has shown loyalty but Naulago just offers that X Factor. I'd keep Connor on the bench, Griffin was our form player pre-lockdown and Tuimavave is our best centre.

A tough few decisions ahead, we know Naulago and Kelly are going, do we use them or use the side we are likely to have next season, with no P&R (as yet unconfirmed, but what I expect) and no clarity for the CC getting going again not easy, also Ellis, should we start getting the replacements playing? Is Jones staying, Houghton, Shaul....?
I know AP said he thought only Albert and Ratu are leaving, but nothing is signed and sealed on the others (that we know of)

Injuries are bound to hit and with fifteen Super League rounds (play-offs not particualrly likely but who knows) plus at least one Challenge Cup fixture within four months the squad will get stretched and the likes of Wynne, Faraimo, Swift, Johnstone, Cator and Brown will get their chances especially with a handful of midweek games to fit in.

Yes would agree with all that. Griffin cited as the form centre in the comp pre lockdown. I thought there might be a question on Connor's fitness?

What have you heard? A very tough gig for him IMO, obviously no head coaching experience and probably starting his tenure in 9th place out of 12 if Wakefield win one of their 2 games in hand. All clubs likely to be full strength or thereabouts?

I mean, he might be brilliant, but we don't know. Let's remember he has spent his whole career at Hull FC so has narrower experience than pretty much every other coach and no security of tenure with the original intention that this would be an interim appointment. He's inheriting a bottom 4 position and had no face to face time with the squad. I hope he smashes obviously it but we need to be realistic.

A lot of my customers are big hull fc fans, I even allow rovers fans, but rugby fans that know a lot of people close to the players and families. And when i’ve Spoken my concerns about going with Last which I wasn’t happy about, been told by to many people with similar positive opinion of last, that I’m thinking he deserves a chance, especially under the current circumstances. Man management superb, knowledge 2nd to non, never really been giving the chance to implement his ideas, just a lot of positive stuff about the guy. Sorry if you was looking for something more scientific or groundbreaking

I'm sure he knows his stuff and that he's well thought of. My concern is that he's been on the coaching staff since 2005 and he's either never applied for or never been offered a head coach job. The current situation ties our hands somewhat but I feel we need fresh ideas. A new start, as it where.

Well he'll get the chance, and per the HDM webcast is the favoured permanent option. Let's hope he can drag us out of the bottom half as a starter.

What bothers me about Last is that he was the right hand of a coach that was sacked as a result of poor results and particularly home form.
To be then promoted albeit said to be an interim appointment just seems wrong when he was also a major part of the failure.
In his defence you may say Last had no imput into the coaching (which i doubt) then surely you have to question his ambition.
I agree fresh ideas are needed but also i would have liked to see someone in who can apply more discipline into the club and get rid of this pally thing calling the coach Radders or Lasty.
Call them Boss or coach but unfortunately there is no way Last would now be able to do that.

Agree with all of that, and I honestly believe had C-19 not come along we would have seen either a new coach or Purtill get the job, but we are living in very different times. On tje one hand we have lost revenue and income is likely to be down for a few seasons so AP [imay[/i be cutting his cloth to suit, on the other we are trying to borrow money from the Government 9via t8he uber dynamic, responsive and professional RFL) which will need to be paid back, so finishing this season nearer the bottom than the top is not an option of we want to be successful.
Andy may well be a really nice lad, I have worked with and for some really nice lads, they were largely useless at the job in hand and everyone liked them, only a handful respected them. Do we think Premier League players call Jurgen "Kloppy"...I doubt it. As Mrs B has said, Andy has his chance, as COYU and yourself have said (and many others) Andy has never shown any ambition to leave the comfortable surroundings of FC.
Only time will tell.

| Agree that a clean sweep would be ideal but in current circumstances that cant happen. I wonder how much input Last and Purtill had under Radford who is a very strong character and apparently had Purtill forced on him. Did he use his apparent abilities as an attacking coach? There was very little evidence of it other than 1st game at Leeds. We owe Radford an awful lot for Wembley wins but he was not able to change things when they went wrong. Did not always use the players at his disposal eg Litten never got a proper chance because he insisted on allowing Houghton to play full games when he was struggling, Also had his favourites eg Shaul and his scapegoats eg Abdull. At least Last/Purtill will be given a chance. Lets see what happens
