All of the above were NRL signings/cast offs weren't they? Rather than jnr signings direct from the Toyota cup, to which you implied (or as I read it at least). Con Mika's career highlights mainly came from jnr appearances with the odd NRL appearance. Roopy gave him great raps and said he'd rip up ESL - he hasn't. From what I've seen (so far) Jordan Cox would certainly have done no worse than Con Mika.

My point is, British clubs would do better to look and invest in British youngsters rather than Aussie counterparts'.

The point is simple Just because they may have played in the NRL isn't a guarantee that they'll perform well in the ESL and considering the increase in the salary cap in Australia can't see any big name players actually making the switch from the NRL to ESL,

Thats why I'd be looking at the Toyota cup to try and find some talented young players wanting to make a name for themselves

any player worth his salt would have finished the season like big sam is doing!! its a sign of a short backbone in my opinion and nothing he says will make it any different, he has come here took big wages and cleared off for no good reason and thats all there is to it, hope his career implodes as what comes around goes around

It's fine to look @ young uns from the Toyota cup, but I'd only support that option if your own club's jnr setup is in order. Not just trying to bypass the bit where the clubs should be tasked with developing their own players.

Turner has done well against the weaker sides, but is getting far too much hype IMO.

Turner did well at saints and was pretty decent defensively at hudds away. HE took a knock early on against shudds at home (when we were actually winning) and then sat out the wigan game. THink you're being a bit harsh TBH. His defence has improved massively this season and he is strong and has pace to burn. Very disappointed we are losing him

If we're building a young mainly British team then there is no doubt Turner is a big loss. He beat then outstripped the England centre at Saints, totally stood up a winger at Cas and scored a hat trick against an ETS centre on Good Friday. It is surprising that for the fist time in ages we actually have a centre who has length of the field pace and a not too shabby ball playing ability his winger yet this hasn't really been recognised by some fans. He has improved massively in the last 12 months which makes it all the more disappointing that he seems likely to take that improvement elsewhere.

Think there's an update on Turner in tomorrow's HDM? Doubt we'll officially release info on him going elsewhere at this point though.
