He may well have been, but usually fans support the team, the players. The reaction towards Thorman from some Hull 'fans' is beyond acceptable, and some of the comments on this forum are just that.

That I agree with, but to say he has only been booed twice, even if true, isn't once bad enough?

We can go round in circles if you like, but since the early nineties through to our promotion, I've seen some poor players, but I don't remember once any of them being booed by the crowd as an individual.

his kicks were booed not him while he had ball in hand, there is a subtle difference. Although if he plays against saints I can see it happening.

I don't normally criticise individual players. In fact I normally get flak from assorted 'realists' for standing up for them. But last night's 'performance' from Thorman was indefensible. IMO he didn't just have a bad game or hit some bad form - he just couldn't be bothered. As a result, he killed the game as a contest by half time when his team mates had been flogging themselves for the win.

That's why he's on the receiving end of so much venom. It's not a simple case of a player playing poorly - Thorman stuck two fingers up at the fans and his team mates last night. Now he's reaping the reward.

Much of what's being done and posted goes beyond what I'd consider doing or saying myself, but can understand the anger that's driven people to these extremes.

I never read into this, I don't think any player goes out on the pitch thinking "I can't be bothered".

More to the point, if the player was showing that kind of attitude, the coach, yes even Agar, wouldn't pick him.

Normally I'd agree, and I'm usually the one defending our players against such allegations. But I honestly can't come up with a more plausible explanation for the way Thorman played last night.


That assumes that the player showed that attitude pre-match, and that the coach was astute enough to pick up on it.

Its the constant I'm right, you're wrong attitude you have that gets under my skin. It's not the points you make (most are fair) it's the delivery of them. This is a board of opinions and you and some others can't accept other peoples.

Nope - the club expects him to bend his knees and put his shoulder in to a standard tackle as a SL player. Anything less than that opens up the possibility of a pointed reaction as per this thread.

We should never have signed him after he turned his back on us the 1st after agreeing and signing??..........The avatars was a bit of fun which may have been a bit ott....end of the day Thorman is truly a shocking player and single handed cost us the game on Tuesday night in one of the worst displays i have witnessed.....those that say support him..why??? he is a pro rl player earning good money...he shouldnt need supporting,he should be able to get on with his job......you can stick a fork in him as he done as a SL player....."IF" he plays against Sts...he wont get booed by me but he wont get my support either....just silence.

There you have it. Yet our coaching team judged him to be the first choice scrum half needed to get us back into the top 4 and enough of a leader to make him vice captain. Unfair all round IMO. In hindsight we should have looked to offload Dykes earlier and give ourselves a fighting chance of getting a top class 7, but we didn't.

Should have kept him and got him fit...didnt he just require surgery to sort his Knee out...i know he would have been out for 2 mths of season but a fit Dykes (cue Hutchie)is worth a hundred Thormans.

Although I agree his performace was totally dire/shocking, I do not believe he alone cost us the game, a lot of players missed one on ones, I noticed they hardly spoke to each other on the pitch. A few players made individual errors.

He cost us 3 tries in the 1st half alone......total of 16 points.

I wish the guy luck for the future, I just don't want to see him in a Hull shirt ever again.
