I simply said Crockers money for this season could have been better spent on giving Dobson big money to come THIS season. Offered him same as Rovers, chances are he would have waited for what is beleived to be the bigger club

Not the only one. Plenty on here wished they had signed him. Clue them up as well Kosh, it seems Im not the only one who doesnt follow rules as closely as some.



Oh and by the way my last post was nothing to do with Dobsons visa.

I dont realy think we need a scrum half, just a leader. In a number of games this season were we have lost it has been down to one player.

chad randall and brad drew arent scrum halves but they are leaders and thats what we need, ideally a scrum half though i agree

I do see your point. Cooke wasn't a scrum half yet we haven't functioned the same since he left (and subsequent replacements were fit of course). That said, I thought we needed a proper SH to play alongside Horne even when he was here.

Sterlo seemed to do that job pretty well in 84/85

Im assuming before you had seen Monaghan's performances in SL you would have taken him over Dobson aswell. You must know by now that some of these Aussie super stars just dont perform well over here. Thats another reason why Dobson is worth the money he is being paid, he proved on 2 occasions previous signing to us that he can perform to a high standard and showed he can adapt to our league.

A number 7 is still a problem we need to adress. But we need more than that, we need a field general. Someone who will grab the game by the scruff of the neck and lead the team. we thought we had it with crocker but.... o well.

Sorry but while excellent - The 'c' man wouldn't have made that big a difference to what we are lacking. He would have added steel, big hits, much needed aggresion but not direction. That needs to come from pivitol half backs. They turn good forwards into great forwards. Average teams to good teams. We need a brand new pairing. Move Horne to full back and recruit a 6 and 7 - Our pack will become much better and our team will grow. We've lacked a decent half back combo since Greg Mackay and Patrick Entat!!!

Seemed to be slipping downhill since losing Brough and Crooke

1. It was Mackey, Mackay was the big bald centre.

2. Brough and Judas rarely played halfback together, Judas played 13 with Horne and Brough in the halves.
