only so much you can do with black and white. Looking at their home and away for this year, what the hell do we wear when we go to their place, and them ours?

Why the roll eyes?
Do you not think that buying merchandise will help the club? Merchandise with sponsorship on that can potentially lead to greater sponsorship deals in the future? Would greater income streams not help the club?

| I went in the shop today and found the new away shirt to be a smart and quite classy looking shirt which has yet again been completely spoilt by sponsors logos which seem to have been just randomly scattered across front and back.
We all understand that we need the financial backing of sponsors but surely there must be a "middle ground" somewhere between the sponsors requirements and the fans actually wanting to represent their club by wearing their shirt!

| I'm disappointed that I won't be buying a replica shirt for the third year in a row now. I will buy some casual stuff instead.

We were quite lucky with the P&O logo which fit neatly onto the irregular hoops style shirts.

| I quite like the new away shirt , can anyone tell me why our colours are now Black , white and Gold . Just don't like it !. I also bought a south Sydney shirt for a Xmas present and it is head and shoulders above our shirts in quality especially our home shirts that look very poorly made.

Then I don't understand the point you were trying to make.
Part of the value the club offers to sponsors is 10K 'walking adverts'. Offer a replica shirt without adverts and you instantly reduce the value of the club to sponsors. And I seriously doubt you'd sell enough extra shirts to make up the shortfall.

Not sure I like either shirt enough to buy one TBH. I'll probably spend the cash on other merchandise this year. But the fact is that the folk spending £40 on a 'walking hoarding' are supporting the club twice over - once from the purchase price and once from the added value for sponsors.

I agree with the P&O ,but the KC logo's spoil the jersey for me . Even last year , the Kc logo on the back of the jersey looked way to big and a mess. We all know the need for sponsorship but it's starting to become overkill on some jerseys now.

That's why I think it would be good to have the option of a shirt without sponsor, maybe they could do a made to order service it'll probably mean paying a little bit more for a shirt but I would certainly pay extra to have a shirt without sponsors.
A big part of buying a shirt for me is how the sponsors look on it, I bought the players version last year because the sponsors didnt spoil the look of the shirt.

I'd hazard a guess that we use gold because it is on our badge....

| Personally I prefer the polo shirts that we produce. They can be worn mostly anywhere, unlike rugby/football shirts, and ours these last few seasons have been well smart with just the sponsors logo and our badge.

You buy a shirt plastered with various company logos you are also buying into those brands so to speak. You are supporting that brand.
For an example, would you if you where a Newcastle fan or Blackpool fan want to associate yourself with a loan shark company who are preying on thousands of peoples misery and hardship? i am also a City fan and will not buy a shirt with a 'pawn brokers company' on the shirt.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with our sponsors but i dont know them, have had no dealings with any of them and have no wish to pay for the privilage of advertising for them.
I know there will be some who would buy a shirt whatever it had on the front and thats up to them, but like you i would probably spend my money on other merchandise within the club. the whole replica kit market is a complete rip off and has being robbing the fans for years,

| Like the away kit, better than the home IMO. Think this has been the case with a few teams for this season, Wigan, Catalans, Cas all good away shirts.

To be fair though, the chances of those sponsors staying on the shirt for a full season are slim at best.

Whilst I understand the sentiment I'm curious to know if your morality extends to all areas of your life? Wearing a clothing brand that use's sweatshops or a phone that was made exploiting cheap labour is you being a billboard for un-ethical companies, probably far worse than the 'loan sharks' on football shirts. If you have no dealings with any company that can be considered morally questionable then I commend you, however I strongly doubt this is the case, which makes your sports shirt specific morality rather flawed.
Completely agree about the replica shirt rip off though, complete scam.

| Off to buy the home shirt tomorrow in preparation for the new season.
Not overly keen on either shirt, much prefer the irregular hoops, but I understand the need for change from a commercial point of view.

| Well it's about destroyed my wallet but I now own both shirts (home and what should have been home! )
Out of the two I think the away shirt (still think it would have been a better home shirt ) immediately says 'Hull FC' for some reason, even though people are comparing it to a Widnes shirt
Does anyone with inside knowledge know if there are any charity/one-off shirts planned for this year? I quite liked, but never got round to buying , the Help For Heroes one and I remember we had that pink one as well.

| Got the away shirt yesterday, and have to say it is the best fitting shirt we've had for a long while, as the shirt is made up of several 'panels' and isn't just a T-shape of 2 un-shaped pieces like in previous years.
the only bad part is the low quality KC sponsor on the back, which looks like a last-minute ironed on effort, the other sponsors are either a much better quality heat-seal or in-printed in to the material.

| Was in Hull yesterday so we paid a visit to the Saville St shop. I don't mind the design of either the home or away shirt, but the quality was very very poor, particularly on the home shirt. Not put together very well at all. Surprising, because ISC have generally been good in other years. Money stayed firmly in pocket.
Note to Hull FC marketing dept - must improve if you want good return from merchandising.
