This is the first time I've contributed on here but this is what is happening with Scott Taylor. Apparantly, he informed the Wigan owner that he was homesick and wanted to leave, the Wigan owner was somewhat annoyed with him and bluntly told him that he'd never play for a club of Wigan's stature anywhere else, and infact he would never pull a wigan shirt in anger ever again, that's why he was 18th man in the grand final team. Anyway, Taylor has signed a 4 year contract with Hull from 2016 and the loan move to Huddersfield isn't necessarily on yet, there are quite a few obstructions and hurdles to clear before that can take place.

Rumours on our board is that its his missus who is homesick and he's moving back for her. indeed, he did voice ambitions to play in the NRL last year (I think)

Don't disagree with that stance but I don't agree with bolloxing up a young player's career just because he isn't happy living where he is. Shows wane up for the petty, narrow minded w@nker he is IMO

The solution is simple.
Negotiate and pay the fee and Taylor can go.

If not he isn't going to Hull. The ball is in Hull's court.

Correct, the ball is in our court. Wigan can either offer him at a reasonable price and recover some of the transfer fee they paid for him, or we can just wait a season and have him for free. To be honest, from a business point of view waiting a season seems sensible for us. There's not too many players that go backwards playing for Huddersfield. If Wigan don't try and sell him to us at an attractive price - they're shooting themselves in the foot. I'm more than happy with either scenario - we can't lose!

I think that as has been said by a previous first time poster who seems to have a bit of insider knowledge, all the signs indicate that he has already signed a very lucrative deal to join us in 2016. However to get it cleared up it would be a good question to ask Adam Pearson at the next fans forum a week on Tuesday.

How can he have signed a deal with us when we can't even speak to him until middle of next season? Any contract he has signed would be unenforceable anyway if he changes his mind

Rupes is brilliant, didn't post on here the last few games of the season and not until they signed a few players, wonder why?

You're absolutely right about this. Wigan have nothing against Hull but, in this case, there's no way we can let him come to you on loan. That would be like saying ''we want a fee or him (having paid one for his services) but, as Hull are unwilling to pay one we'll let him go for free instead!'' I'm sure your club would take a similar stance in similar circumstances. As for the difference to other players we have let go; in general it is the intention of those payers to return, as Joel Tomkins did recently and Sam Tomkins and Mossop (injury situation notwithstanding!) are strongly rumoured to be doing too. That isn't the case with Taylor.

And we got transfer fees for all those players.

Scott has signed for Salford on a year long deal. He will be in a Hull shirt from 2016 on a 4/5 year deal.

So Salford will have little if any "ownership" of Taylor during or at the end of the loan period.

Maybe Salford are allowing him to commute a much longer distance than other clubs were prepared to do.

No-one forced Salford to pay a fee so one assumes they are happy with the one year deal as is Taylor.

Koucash and Pearson may even have discussed the arrangement.
