worst final in living memory

What a shocking advert for rugby league.

1985, greatest final, 2013, worst final. Thing is I just feel indifferent. When you can't complete a set you don't deserve to win. We defended well against Wigan, shame Shaul lost the ball when tackled by Charnley.

No. The Wigan-London semi was a shocking advert. This was a tight defensive game where the weather came out on top. Both teams tackled their hearts out .

The ball was clearly knocked out of Shaul's hand by Charnley and should have been a knock on, with ball back to Hull. I'm not sure how Shaul could have stopped the ball from being released when Charnley thumped it good and hard!

Attacking play was shocking

Hull never really had a foothold in the game.

They had a set on wigans line in the first minute, poor finish, penalty, wigan go into the hull half then have 4 or 5 back to back sets before hull see the ball again.

That set the tone for the game. From then on, hull invariably knocked on between tackle 2 and 4, and when they did complete they gave wigan a penalty which piggy packed them up the field again. It felt like hull were constasntly defending in their own half.

I don't mean to be rude, but certainly in the CC finals ive witnessed, that is the worst performance i've ever seen.

Wigan won a major final, by 16 points, and they weren't anything more than solid, and scrappy in places. A performance like that would normally have resulted in a defeat, but instead they coasted to a comfortable win with their line barely threatened.

I'm not a hull fan but even I was extremley frustrated, so i can't imagine how the hull fans felt. I could feel the collective groans from every knock on right through my body.

Granted but the game is not all about attack.

I was shoutiing for that at the time, but then i realised it meant nothing because hull would just have knocked on from the resulting posession.

It's been said many times before, but the ball should be transferred to the left grip away from defenders coming in from the right.
But players don't do it very often, scared of dropping it I suppose.

HOW in the world was it a Wigan knock on ? it went out to Wigan line

but we have still won it haha.

The acoustics at wembley are diabolical, never heard the strains of old faithful once and Iam sure they were singing their hearts out.Still in any kind of weather as the saying goes.

Tbh, Hull fans were singing for majority of the match.. However, Wigan fans didn't sing nothing until 5 minutes to go.

Overall had a good day despite conditions. Even had a laugh with some Leeds fans.

Regarding Bentham, thought he had a poor game. To many wigan players have influence on officials just by waving there hands in the air.

However, the way we played we deserved to lose.

It was a good atmosphere tbh.

Conditions ruined it from the outset, thought it would have suited you more though if I'm honest.

Crooks not fit, whiting should have played in the centres with an extra forward on the bench

i am honestly not trolling but when your fullback made the break did u believe he was going to score or did u know charnley was going catch him?

Depends how you think of it..

If shaul hadn't been defending much an running ball from own line, Yes i believe Shaul (FB) would have scored.

What makes that scenario worse is that Briscoe or Crookes wasn't backing him up. Credit to Charnley though.

as soon as he made the break i thought wheres charnley but briscoe should have been backing him up.

When Shaul went through the line and didn't change his angle of run I knew Charnley had him.

Correct about the conditions.

Apparently Crooks passed all the fitness tests this week, and being our top try scorer it would have been a big call to leave him out. However, hindsight says you're right, too.

It wasn't Crook' fitness that left him down today. He couldn't catch.

True, was the same story for plenty of them. Ugh.

In all fairness to Shaul though.. He didn't look back to see Charnley coming. Could of changed direction maybe who knows. All if's an but's now.
