If we have made an offer to Gleeson I hope its match terms till the end of the season, that way it becomes a win win for everyone, he gets to play if he doesn't behave its bye bye and if he does we get a good centre for the remainder of the year. One stumbling block may be the settlement from Wigan does it have any conditions etc.

I'd have him, he's a quality player. Surely, if he behaves while in a Hull shirt it should not matter that he transgressed at Wigan, Wire and Saints.

if Gleeson can come to the club and help turn things around then thats worth a punt for me.

ok he may have issues but we re not privvy to what the problems are, the club will have checked him out (i hope) and who knows dropping to a lower club might just be the kick up the he needs as he's not got a great many years left in the game.

lets be positive for a change and applaud the club for at least trying to do something to help us improve our squad

Agreed..some people arnt happy unless they have something to whinge about...the club have gone 4 one of the best british centres in the super league and lets be honest theres no chance of us bringing in anyone close to as good as gleeson... yes he may have a bit of baggage but hes well worth a punt IMO...if it doesnt work out then at least theyve tryed to be ambitious!

If you mean signing a top class off-quota player, at a good rate, in a position we are weak in, is double standards vs some of our previous recruitment, then yes it probably is.
I would be quite happy with those kind of double standards.

Gleeson will be the best quality centre that's pulled on an FC shirt for many years if he comes. He's worth a punt. I also think that it may just help Long's game. Get him playing with more flair , with a smile on his face? And Fitzy will have Gleeson TT eating sour dough bread in no time anyway

Also his salary this season is being quoted as anything between £40k and £60k. Even at the higher figure that's less than 4% of our cap spend.
