Widnes' spirit always impresses me and despite Houston sometimes being a penalty machine they he's a very strong competitor; they are good at home and with us needing to shift players around this will be a very tricky fixture.

... I'd assumed that, when announced, it was mathematically impossible for city to get promoted, so the pitch didn't need relaying and a slot in midsummer was therefore available.

i would say dropped based on performance

too light in the forwards, we should win, missing a lot of power...

Back row is an issue right now. Without the 3 starters there is zero penetration in that area. Washbrook is steady away. Lane is promising and has done well but isnt going to make a big impact on games at this stage in his development. Downs falls into the same category as Lane but isnt as good imo. To me its a no brainer to put Griffin there even if its just a stop gap until Mini, Manu or Hadley are back. Otherwise we just dont have anyone who can punch holes in those channels.

Just wrote down the same side on my pad at work. Only changes I would maybe make, are Logan for Talanoa if he isn't ready, and perhaps Washy at 13 and Bowden to the bench

With so many players out it would be madness to have a player of Connor sat on the bench for at least half the match.

Moving Griffin to the backrow would solve that problem, if it Talanoa is out, put Logan on the wing.

Problem being if the same happens again we have no Gaz Ellis to throw the coaching staff out before he lays the law down to his teammates.

Lets hope the coach agrees with us about pushing Griffin into the second row.ideal game for Radford to try something different.
I agree leaving Connor on the bench seems strange if Radford goes that way again but then again leaving Masi out of the 17 at Saints was also strange given our lightweight bench.
Given the injury crisis at Widnes it should be a comfortable win

Taylor & Houghton seem to take it all pretty seriously.

A decimated Widnes team have 9 players out , two with broke legs , one with a broken arm. , They also have players out with hamstring injury , ligament damage and concussion !!

6 of theirs are starters, Marsh, Inu, Ah Van, Dudson, White and Cahill.

Both teams have a few injuries, I would say they have more key players for them missing. Our issue is we have a a lot of forwards missing, leaving us short. Need to throw the ball around as we have plenty of quality in the backs on a fast pitch.

We get up the pitch a lot better when we shift the ball to the backs, look a lot more dangerous. Abdull seems to be vital to this, speed of hands and the defenders know he’s a genuine run threat too. Wonder where he is this week? No news of injury unless I’ve missed it.

He was missing after half time last week iirc? Probably picked up a knock.
