| Elima is a good strong player, my main concern would be he seems to be a bit undisciplined and we don't really need another player who gives away stupid penalties.

Kearney might be better than Horne at fullback but he's a poor option imo.

| Elima decent player but not sure using him at prop, rather have a recognised prop also seems to give penalties away

| Imentioned Elima the other day after hearing about him at the weekend and I was disappointed with it tbh. He's a penalty machine which is the last thing we need. A Bradford fan told me last night he is expected to go back to Catalans.
They type of names i'm hearing are not exactly mindblowing tbh. McDonnell, Kearney, Crookes, Elima, Holdsworth, Watts and add in to that Pitts some decent players but not exactly what AP talked about and certainly not the sort of players that will see us challenging. It's definately going to be a long haul for us before we are challenging for trophies.
I'd rather sign McDonnell than Kearney as a fullback. His pace is better and he is a younger option. Also think Kopzack is a far better prop than Elima so I would be looking at him even if it involves a small fee.

Quite. That's what we've largely been doing for the last few seasons with predictable results. Not exactly the change of direction indicated by AP when he took over.

Agree with all of that Paul,
I like McDonnell, wouldnt mind Lovegrove or Kopczak either, but Kearney and Elima, no thanks.
IF Warrington's offer for Chase £300,000 was rejected,as much as we need Chase, he certainly aint worth that amount of money.- even if we did offer the same fee as Wigan and Warrington,he'd probably go to either of the big guns anyway.

| McDonnell looked "Greenshieldsesque" last night! Certainly better than what we've got or looks to be available elsewhere. Elima is another flair player not the rough and nasty prop that we need.

| I agree, some of these 'names' don't fill me with the [i'I'll rushout and buy a new Pass' [/ifactor.
Of course some may be smoke screens for the other bigger signings we have no idea about.

Not exclusively, we've flashed the cash and brought in big names before, which hasn't really worked out for one reason or another. See Long, Lauaki, Mckinnon, Gleeson...etc
It's about a team and finding the balance, some players whilst average in one system may shine in another.
As much as we all want to sign the best players, sometimes squad players and the less glamorous signings can be just as important.
At the right price Elima will be a decent addition.

On the "who should we keep" thread on the Bulls board, Elima has more votes (50) than any other player. He looked class for Catalans and would walk into the Hull team. Great signing if it happens IMO.

I agree but other than Ellis thes other names linked are ALL less glamorous players.Plus the arrival of Ellis is offset by losing Manu, Moa and Ogre.
It's only rumours at present of course so we have to wait and see but Elima, Kearney and Crookes don't fill me with optimism.

Look who he is up against though!
Kopzack is Bradford's best prop by a mile.
He is a decent player but not sure he's a prop and we don't need backrowers, hardly a great signing.

Yeah I see where you coming from, all we have been linked with would be decent additions but are not quite of the came calibre as the departing players.
Hopefully there'll be some more exciting signings on the way too!

| other than ellis, our recruitment so far rumours or otherwise does not inpspire me into thinking we will be challenging at all over the next few years, and that is sad.. as it stands with people definatly departing and others probably going aswell, we wil be even further behind the top teams....

Turner is looking more and more like he won't be missed. Martin and Aspinwall aren't exactly high quality players either.
I'm also underwhelmed at some of the names being floated but let's not get carried away. Yet.

Agreed!
Hearing that we are being linked with Trent Merrin along with Galloway and Kite in our search for an NRL prop.

Elima is a better prop than Aspinwall, that would be an improvement tbh.
You missed the fun and games last night Kosh, check the mods board.

| sometimes you get some success withouth having a quality player in every position what we need is a good balanced squad warrington and wigan have a balance of a couple of quality players and some good squad players some very average players that i would not have at fc they just have a solid structure built there and all play for eachother something we was doing and now arent
elima, crookes, arundel, ellis, mcdonnell, pitts,a top stand off and overseas powerhouse prop and add the rest of the players we have i think that would be a good team
pearson has said theres more big names to come so i trust in that but i dont see were hes going to get these so called big names from theres not many about without spending alot of money on them
