You just need to consider would Wigan, Saints, Catalans, Warrington, Leeds or Hull KR sign him. Same applies to any potential signing. I wouldn't think any of those would want Russell.

I do wonder whether the 2.1m includes the wages of the full squad, rather than just the top 25 which could be the 1.8m figure. 300k on 15 17/18 year olds is 20k each average which I imagine is about right.

Got to admit that if we are really spending up to 1.8M with the 2024 squad then we need a new accountant. Since the loss of Motu and the over promotion of Clark the recruitment has got steadily worse and in all honesty cheaper.

The club and Pearson have been very economical with the truth to the point of verging on misrepresentation.

The club is an utter shambles if the powers that be think the current squad is anywhere near value for 1.8M.

That’s said money talks and shows in the league standings and results but still doesn’t excuse the poor performances, they just reflect the current state of the club from the top down I’m afraid.

That was my first thought and the fact every figure is squarely rounded. Having said that they are mainstream media and regulated, so they wouldn't produce without a firm basis.

It is starling that we are spending between 65 - 72% less on players than the top teams and we are 15% below the finite cap with 0% on exempted opportunity.
