We let Westerman go because his heart appeared to not be in Cas anymore, and he wanted to leave, he looked a shadow of the player he was a few seasons ago, and we needed the money towards the stadium that we wouldnt have got a year later when his contract ran out.

I hope he returns back to form and fulfills his potential however

You got him only on the basis that we offered him a new deal and he rejected it. Had he said he wanted to stay he wouldn't have gone anywhere, so it really wasn't anything to do with you flashing the cash.

That was just an additional benefit and reason for us to cash in once he said he wasn't signing a new deal.

Maybe we didn't know we needed more than just cover until recently.
