Can't understand the logic of getting rid of Holdsworth unless we have someone better lined up. Yes he went missing towards the end of the season and I have very big doubts about him, but as we know finding even an average half-back is a struggle for SL teams.

So the Holdsworth and Crookes leaving is guess work?

My point was that to get contracted players to leave you've sometimes got to pay them off.

No but he talked up Horney and Miller and said we would be bringing in another half to lead us around the field and someone would have to go out to accomodate him.

Not exactly, but he repeatedly claimed to be unhappy with the half back situation and mentioned trading on several occasions. My feeling was that he doesn't rate Holdsworth tbh.

He didn't talk up Miller,just said that he'd be back from Australia in November,said that when Horney got injured we missed an half back who could take on the line.

Did AP say how many passes have been sold to date? or roughly how many he thinks we should sell before start of 2014?

Didn't listen, but he said in the HDM the other day that we sold 8k last season, and he'd be happy to match that this season.

Hopefully some postive news on the half back situation to come, then.

Don't share the interpretation on here about Holdsworth and Miller. He made a point of saying Miller will be back for Nov 1st, but he didn't say categorically that Miller would be going nowhere, despite being given the opportunity to do so.

Given that AP is generally not reluctant to make categoric statements, it left me the impression that Miller could leave in the new year if we had someone else.

It may be that because Miller seems to be much more popular than Holdsworth on this board that people have read it that way. Personally I really want Miller to succeed but I'm uncertain if he will. For me he was a big weakness in the team in the latter part of the season.

Yep, deal should be done in two weeks. Just ironing out a few details. We're looking to send five players over next year and both clubs will be coaching from the same manual in regards of style of play and attacking/defensive structures. Said Donny was a good club with a good setup, good stadium and good coach. Said it was perfect for us really.

The biggest weakness in the latter part of the season still hasn't been addressed and it's not Miller. Our forwards too often failed to take control and if anything, we are weaker now than we were last year
