Quote ="ComeOnYouUll"The target of 10,000 was always a very ambitious one. If we start the season with between 8,000 and 8,500 then that is still not bad going given the continuing poor economic climate. I'm sure the figure will compare well with other clubs. I've not seen many claiming record sales.'"
Agree with all off that. I think you might sell a few more than that though. I was reading an article about season ticket sales at football clubs recently (the focus was on clubs outside the top flight) and apparently people tend to underestimate the amount of churn - people moving in and out of the area, getting too old/becoming old enough, losing/taking interest. Was the discount period only for renewals?
I've found seeing the pattern of sales quite an interesting 'experiment'. The idea of the milestone prize draws, which I had thought a very clever idea for getting people to buy early and build momentum, didn't really seem to work. Decent enough prizes, but longish odds and I guess either consciously or subconsciously people saw that and it didn't change much.

I agree with that, things like having a meal with Bomber ain't going to encourage sales imo, however had we secured the services of a good number 7 I consider we would have sold more.
I think if we start the campaign well our attendances will gradually increase, & if we have a good season (better than last) we may see a rise in people prepared to commit to buying a pass.
I do believe it is important that the club reconsider the deadline next time and move it back to Dec 31st.

A variation that maybe could work, in an everyone's a winner is a sort of way, is a 10k = 10% discount for everybody deal. There are one or two possible awkaward outcomes, but as long as they were planned for, that'd be fine.
In fairness, a free night in McRae's diary is going to be easier to find than a good 7 and even a slap up meal will be ~0.1% of the price.
Any business finds it easier to get custom in good times - which unfortunately these are not. [uIMO[/u, that isn't just the biggest factor, but it is probably bigger than all the rest combined.

after reading the posts after mine, and now that im better informed as to other top teams pass sales. i think it would be fair to say ive definitely over estimated that we could have reached 10k by xmas, and also that ive underestimated how significant the recession has been

Asked this question yesterday whilst getting tickets for friendlies and was informed that they are available for collection at the end of January once the final DD has been debited (for those who applied in Sept), didn't ask whether it could be posted.

I was in the first tranche and it was as easy as phoning up and asking for them to be sent for £2 as I was out of town. The VERY helpful lady posted them the same day and they were at my house 24 hours later - if you're collecting I would assume it's even easier.

Give it up, mate. These people aren't interested in the facts, they just swallow the bullcrap fed to them by the Tories and the right-wing media. They're incapable of thinking for themselves.

That article doesn't offer up any 'new' evidence. Rightly or wrongly Labour will be blamed by most for this economic mess we're in and my worry is that with Ed Milliband in charge and Ed Balls, armed with nothing but a Keynes textbook and his fingers crossed, then we won't see a Labour government any time soon.

Is that significantly worse than the partial reading of The Wealth of Nations that got us here? Labour rightly get the blame, because it happened on their watch. But it isn't like the Tories were calling for more oversight and regulation when they were in opposition. In fact, they were the ones who dismantled it in the first place and they've done precious little to rebuild it, preferring to focus solely on spending - a big issue, which has exacerbated the problem, but not the underlying cause. Almost the entire political and economic establishment misjudged it over about three decades, and they aren't really facing up to it even now.
Some way o/t - sorry.

No, it absolutely isn't and I agree with all you say. My words were more in mocking of the two Ed's than the literature.
The problem we have is that we are largely a service industry Economy, as most wealthy nations are. So when you look to implement Keynesian ideas, it's the very people who got us into this mess that are going to need the injections into the economy so they can get us out. Which politicians are going to stand with the financial sector, given its popularity? And I like you, don't have much confidence in their ability to learn.

thats why i dont vote for either of them !!!! as I said, time for a change completely however wooden heads in Hull keep ticking that red box regardless of what they do wrong and in that flick of a pen is where the issues lie, NO ONE including the labourites think for themselves but blindly follow the old myth of the working man must follow labour.
here is a strong wind of change and it will grow even more over the next couple of years hopefully

The only wooden heads in Hull are people like you with such arrogant and ridiculous statements. There are many people of all political persuasions who are very intelligent and put a great deal of thought into how they vote. Unlike you they can see a little further than their nose.

But the young girl reissued us another one.Good job we didn't wait to use them for the first game. When we got them one of the names was wrong. The last bit of the surname was spell wrong but we pointed this out but were told it was ok and it wouldn't be a problem. The girl in the ticket Office said we would have had trouble using it on match day To all pass holders check your passes
