Totally agree with this, all we want from any player is to give their all whilst they're with us, suggestions that we should drop Turner in favour of Crooks are just barking! Firstly how is it fair to the player, secondly it undermines confidence/trust in the playing staff, thirdly it damages us for this season.

I would be happy for Crooks to play against some of the lesser teams like Wakey & Widnes or if there is an injury but dropping Turner for him having the temerity to sign for another team is beyond reasoning! If the rumours are correct and we sign Arundel then where would Crooks be playing next season anyway, he certainly wouldn't be getting a bench spot if our main centres are fit?

Good luck to him and hope he continues the form he's shown so far.

Oh and Oldham is 90 miles away so asking him to drive over for each game/training session is no small thing, don't know if the club were paying him extra to cover that but that's £70 a week in fuel alone never mind how tiring it can be. Think people need to respect his decision, it's not like he's fooked us over half way through the season 'cos it's a bit chilly

I kind of had an inclin after Longy tweeted him asking him if he needed a house up there. Player mind games unsure.

He's not irreplaceable nor is he one of the best in the league. More than happy for him to leave crooks will overcome him and be a far better player - fact.

But the team at current alike Kosh has said needs to be picked on form. Ben is still young carry on to give him the game time we intended too I am sure we can't do much wrong.

We should drop him, as well as Manu, Moa, Martin and O'Meley, and possibly Briscoe (we don't know if he's staying yet do might as well cut him loose now). Signing Russell on loan was a bad idea as well.

Then, when we're getting bummed every week, maybe people would stop saying these silly things in a selective manner.

In which games, certainly not against the top teams (scored a good try against Saints, but that was it,).

Looks great against the likes of Rovers and Cas, but still hasn't proved he is good enough for a team that wants to be competing for trophies.

I'd have Atkins, Watkins, Bridge, Wardle, Cudjoe, Hardraker and Goulding on this seasons form over him.

No a great loss as it stands, he may go on to prove me wrong however.

And probably his potential has been brought on by the current set up and PGs all round better coaching. Its disappointing but not the end of the world. I think it is now important to bring in Crooks as one of our first choice threequarters and let him get invaluable experience this season to set him up for the future, and become a cracking player for years to come.

And to add he (and Manu) should play as long as their form warrants it, which is does at the moment.

Why on earth any-one would want to drop players just because they choose to leave at the end of the season beggars belief it really does..

Gentle is blooding youngsters as he see's fit, let us just leave him to his choices and go with whatever he considers is the best team to win.

I get where you are coming from but the only difference I can see maybe happening is that Crooks could come into the squad for the 'easier' games which if Turner was staying I doubt would be considered.

Well, if he can't bear to live a couple of hours away from his family, its a good job he will never be good enough to play in the NRL!

Sorry to see him go, not the end of the world though, and I wish him well.

Disappointing but no surprise. Will be a big loss as he has improved massively this year. Expect him to be pushing for an England spot in the next year or 2. Much better player than ryan atkins

You forgot Whiting, Sharp,Aspinwall etc the club havent offered them new deals yet so maybe they will not perform this year.

Its the future no wonder Wigan didn't win the grand final last year as they let Mcquire continue coaching the side.

Thats the point thou. It looks like Turner is going and we need to give first preference to players that are committed to the club. It never did Briscoe any harm when he first came onto the scene in superleague as a raw young kid and it never did Crooks any harm last week against the champions. Its a team game and by all means use Turner in the squad, but only as cover.

After the first few posts from Cas fans on their forum. I know fans always change their view on players when there rumoured to be leaving, but they don't seem that bothered if he were to leave. Apparently he's got speed but not much else to be a strike centre and also a liability in defence.
Hopefully due to his age he will continue to improve each season.

Pretty sure that is an area that Gentle will be able to improve as he has with Turner & Sharp.

I've always liked the look of Makinson at Saints he could be used as good cover for the centres and wingers. Surely with Turner buggering off to Sin tellins. It would make you think that they haven't got anyone ready to be a first choice centre in their academy. Now I know Makinson isn't a stand out player but he's still young and abit of flair to his game. He would be good cover.

Why would we let him leave now when it would allow Saints to be stronger and we will need everybody available again throughout the rest of the season.

I'm happy for Crooks (no 'e') to get another handful of games under his belt but I would bring him in slowly. We don't need to throw him in at the deep end. Imagine what Hull fans would be like if he turns out to have bad games for the rest of the season due to over playing him!!!

Maybe that's why he keeps saying he's undecided , judging by most opinions on here . Maybe scared of fans opinion of him . What if he was out of form , would people still want him or even hull . It's a short career . What would people think if the ooc players not offered new deals refused to play , saying they didn't want to get injured so they could get new clubs . Leave the kid alone and just play our strongest team till the season finishes .

Will he be going to replace Shenton or Wheeler, Shenton looks awful these days but I like the look of Wheeler (who is OOC).

Saints look really weak in the front row, all of there props are avearge IMO, I would have strengthen there before signing another backrow forward were they are pretty strong,

Wonder if next season Clarkey will say that Saints should be embaressed 'cos they can't bring through talent and have to sign players from Hull..fooking doubt it somehow..

Fans want to weaken the side for some reason. Apparently they think bringing through youngsters means throwing them in at the deep end before they're ready. Crooks has had a couple of good games. Let's use him wisely and not over do it. Turner is still a better present and should be played.

most players move on,i just dont see st helens pulling up any trees on current form and think some of their targets are thinking saints are still as good as they were a few years ago.and they arent.
have to wonder why these players want to leave us though as we have been progressing this season.
on the bright side it is freeing up cap space, i just hope we use it well
