to be fair I can understand why humberside would only want their rugby league producer to host the forum and i can see why the club wouldn't want him to do it

from a selfish point of view i'd prefer the forum on radio as it's easier to listen to at that time of day but hopefully it will be available to watch recorded on fc tv

It's a Hull FC Fans Forum organised by the club with assistance from FC Voices and as they have in their employment a very capable broadcaster in Clarkey why would they let an outsider host it and as host possibly dictate the agenda. If it was a Forum organised by Radio Humberside it would be a different matter.
The offer to Radio Humberside as far as I can see was to broadcast the event live. An offer they have declined because it may compromise their "editorial policy" if they don't host the event.
Has it not occured to them that as it's an event run by Hull FC they may have an "Editorial Policy" of their own and may wish to control the event to a point that they have control over certain issues and/or questions.
For example if a question is raised regarding Gleeson or Aspinwall the club may wish not to make any further comment but with an outside "journalist" in the Chair he could push the panel into a position they don't want to be.

i would have thought not having gollum there would help RH, at least they could have someone who can press the correct buttons and use the equipment properly, and not think they are the main focus of the show - he makes alan partridge look like a seasoned pro

I for one consider the work by FCvoices to be great, a bunch of volunteers giving up time for the club they love! then some sad excuse of a dobbin commentator decides the group should be disbanded whatever Gollum!!! as if we care what you think

Having read his comments on facebook i agree with him.

it's a new are for the club and if the club are trying to get old fans back they should be using every option available.

Plenty of fans either don't have access to the internet or wouldn't want to sit and watch there pc for 90 mins. we shouldn't turn our back on radio just because some people dont like 1 person.

RH broadcast the Rovers fans forum on the radio only, to a fair bit of disgruntlement for those out of range. It's a trade-off between geography and internet access it seems, but streaming gives you the advantage of pictures too (assuming it works). From a personal perspective, the combination of internet + the forum not being hosted by a Hull KR supporter is a simple win-win. Not as if Clarky is a novice at this sort of thing either.

Radio Humberside are the most listened to radio station in the area, especially for sports and the club should be looking at them broadcasting a fans' forum soon regardless of who is presenting it.

Can't agree. Can you imagine DDD being allowed to chair a Rovers forum? Why should their fans have to put up with that?

If Humberside had organised and funded the forum and Hull were therefore indebted to them, then I can see an argument to let them dictate who chairs. But as this has been organised and funded by the club and FC Voices, then they should decide who chairs, and it should be someone who empathizes with the feelings of the fans.

I'm not interested in what the presenter says, just the panel.

I believe the club should ask RH to organise and produce the next forum.

I'd like to think we've moved on from the poor relationship of recent years.
