After watching the interview I can't see us making a big name signing. Gentle seems fairly happy with the squad and is very forward about his plans to play more youngsters this coming season.

Agar probabaly said the same thing before the start of last season.

i think that will depend on the quality available, you wouldn`t want to block a young players route into the first team by signing an average player, however if a player of top quality is available given room on the salary cap the club would be foolish not to make a move.

Smailes has said Ferguson was a target but Hull have moved for someone else. Don't see it being an overseas player personally.

The thing is Paul whoever we bring in has to better than the young players we already have at the club, i don`t see any British players who may be available falling into that category.

Would guess it would be Jay Pitts, wouldn't be greatly happy, but he has got a lot more experience than any of our young players and when he first came on the scene was the best British Foward in the game for his age, hasn't really kicked on though.

If, after Gentle and McCrae have scoured the nrl and sl respectively for two months, all we can come up with is a forward of the quality of Pitts (or similar), I would rather us sign nobody and hope that Gentle can get the best out of some of these academy forwards that Fubar has kept hidden away for so long.

Hopefully Fubar was an even bigger idiot than most fans thought (very difficult) and we actually have a couple of academy forwards who can step up and make a real difference under the tutorship of a proper coach.
