| Allam Marine won the ERYC Chairmans special recognition award this year. Obviously a precursor and mutual buttering up related to his now iminent move to Welton.

| So he offered £300k for the stadium and there are still some fools on sportstalk earlier saying the council were wrong to turn him down. Unbelievable! Allam has been truly unmasked and everyone who has heard the full story must surely now realise what he was trying to do.
Just hope the Mail puts the full story in the paper tomorrow and not just criticise the Council as they have in the past.

| Just got back in. Caught the back end of Burnsy's comments on his conversation with Ehab Allam (apparently, his dad was too flustered at arriving late to give an interview ). Quite shocking, really, but not surprising:
Ehab said the Allams wanted to gift a £120M project and investment to the city of Hull. Of that, the Council's contribution was to be a mere £40M, and the Allams would put up the other £80M.
Of course, the Allams wouldn't expect the Council to produce £40M cash, but the signing-over of the stadium would "represent" the council's share of the outlay. I.e., They truly did expect the council to simply to give them the stadium. Beggars belief.
This would, of course, back up the comments of Mr Geraghty - one of my new favourite people - in his conclusion that the Allams "wanted the stadium for nothing". Interesting that the council extrapolated the likely course of events in a similar way to most Hull fans and sensible members of the public, in that it was a thinly disguised attempt to gain collateral for commercial use. A far cry from the £80K philanthropist's "gift" that never actually appeared on the table even in proposal form, by all accounts.

| This is a terrible decision for us out of town fans.
Do the council not realise all the problems it's going to cause next season on the A63 with roadworks for access roads etc. at Melton for the new mega stadium ? Will be a nightmare getting to home games.
Shocking.
Well done council. Knew the guy was obviously a rambling chancer the very first time I heard him waffling on on Blunderside.

| I too caught this tonight and couldnt believe the cheek of the man wanting 30-40 million from the council ie the stadium for free then he would do the rest. The City are fans are in uproar because they know that without the KC, Allam wont be able to generate more funds to buy more players for Hull City. They now know that they are fooked!

This is true. Allam is left holding a big fat screaming baby he only ever wanted in order to acquire a council property in the first place.
I really think he thought the council would have no serious objections - then again - maybe the Lib Dem council made the right noises before he took the plunge?
Had to s at the City fans (mainly out of towners) bemoaning what a loss to the city of Hull this is. In the same way that Humberside reckoned there was a 60/40 split of opinion in favour of Allam in the city after people had contacted Sportstalk. They mean after [iCity fans[/i had contacted Sportstalk, and the odd text from Hull fans had been read out. What a set of plonkers.
As he can't afford to relocate to Melton, and wouldn't get planning permission anyway, has spurned the offers of Costello and other available land for his project (why? ), I think we may see City up for sale again, soon.

This could be his next step, threatening to leave the city altogether. The RH propaganda machine has been running quite well tonight with the guys at Doncaster claiming not to of heard what was said by the council. They then started the claims that the ER council had embraced Allam 100%.

Good riddance. If there was a way of getting him there I'd be jumping up and down.
Won't happen though. Disaster for Hull City if he did, but he can't raise the cash without the KC for a sports village there (unless ERYC give him a £40k building to borrow against ) and the people of Melton wouldn't tolerate it.
Anyway - what's in a move to Melton for him, in reality? He never had any intention of building a sports village, just of acquiring prime commercial land in the middle of Hull. He's spent enough on City - he aint going to dig deep to build a stadium as well. I really think we'll see a lot of backtracking soon if he can't get Hull CC to reconsider and Hull City will be on the market again. Feel sorry for their (so shortsighted) fans, really.
I'm certain Allam will use the threat as a last tactic, though. The council have passed with flying colours so far, hope they will see through this as well and not bow to the inevitable blinded public opinion.

Heard so much diatribe from people (not on here) and cannot wait to ram this back down their throats.

All I would say to anyone who loves Hull Fc and reads this board is Listen Again on Radio Humberside's site to lasts night Sports Talk it is 23 minutes in there you will hear the Portfolio Holder for Culture and Leisure who says Hull FC "could have been out of the Stadium in 15 months"

I was amazed to hear Terry Geraghty give such a precise prediction as 15 months.
It begs the question what information he had on the future plans for the Stadium.

| So allam is telling the council that Hull FC are costing him "a lot of money"?
Now the 2 possible scenarios from that for me are that either allam is the one funding pearson's purchase of the club or that pearson's club are a thorn in allam's side which would, presumably, make pearson's position at city difficult

| At the back of your nice building you have a very large piece of land.
I have an idea !
I will build a super extension that can be used for the benefit of all including yourself. In fact I will make a mammoth investment to make it happen.
As your part of the deal you just have to sign over to me the title deeds of your building, as well as the land of course. Its a simple as that ! and any profits from the agreement will be erm.......mine.
Should at some time in the future I decide to sell any part of the the new super extension or indeed the existing building then any person dwelling there will of course be given very good notice of this event, and will be given ample time to find a new home somewhere. But trust me you are safe , it will never happen. Why would anyone ever want to sell land or buildings for profit ? It just never happens. So... what do you think, do we have a deal ?
