Retired from playing pro RL yes, it doesn't mean they can't go on and earn a day wage doing something else. The opportunites that are open to SL pros in terms of education & further training these days are far greater than ever.
At least back in the day players could/would go back to their 'full time' jobs.

Whilst I wouldn't begrudge Lee a testimonial (after all why shouldn't he under the present rules) the thing I find really offensive are the 'testimonials' for soccer players at the top end..sickening Ryan Giggs for example (& I've no beef with any player it was the first name I thought of) got a £1M from his testimonial match alone !!

There are a lot of parallels with Stanley Gene's testimonial at Rovers, which was extremely well-supported by their fans!

Radford has done the job for which he is paid, nothing more, and he was a crap captain.

Lee has my support and I do think he deserves a testimonial to thank him for all his efforts on behalf of RL. He also coached East Hull lads and has helped all the lads at the KC. I was sorry when he left, but understood that anyone is entitled to try and better himself, and he certainly did that whist at Bradford so good luck Lee and hope the testimonial is well supported.....grannyfan Cindy

Lee has been a true warrior for FC, a great servant both on and off the field and deserves a testimonial as much as any other player..
funny how the same posters (warriors) are always kicking guys off their keyboards... wonder really if some are fc fans dont you?
so what he drives a nice car or is part owner of this and that??? do some not realise how short a career RL is so well done to him for making sure he is cool when he retires... he is currently looking for a knackered ford anglia just to suit one or two posters on here

Heard he's having a boxing show again , more like prizefighter style with people like hock , Huby , fielden , Mason (Keith ) etc all fighting . He wanted to play rovers at kc as well but hull have stopped it , saying it's not in there best interest !! wonder why .

A testimonial to me, means loyal service to ONE club, ala Horne/Yeaman, Radders went, when the going got tough at Hull (dont blame the kid, but he left all the same) his glory years was at the Bulls, so why should we shell out for him? yeah hes been an ok player, nout startling, and one that wont be remembered in 10 years time, lots of players do community work, thats what comes with a high profile job, and personally i couldnt give two figs what car he drives, or what business hes got, all i care is what he does on the pitch, and for Hull, im sorry to say its not been dazzling!
Just because some of us dont agree with his testimonial, does that mean were not Hull FC fans? give your head a bang mate, not everyone thinks the same

well we all have our own opinion, thats mine, I supported the majority of Hornes events as I will Yeamans, to me they deserve a testimonial, its all about opinions [ipal[/i and im sure Lee will get a few bob, with or without me chipping in, and good luck to him

I have no problem with radofrd being given a testimonial. Support it if you want to, don't if you don't want to
