Just stating the facts. Those are his stats over his NRL career. His average over the last 5 years is 16 games a season, and he's played in 7 games out of 12 so far this season according to NRLStats.com.
I see no reason to believe that this will get any better now he's in his 30s, but I hope I'm wrong.

Complete waste of a quota spot, rather have Lyn, Sharp, Tunrer or Whiting there.

He's played 8 out of 11 this year.

16 games per season over 5 year isn't to bad when you consider he wasn't always first choice at nz and he had a one off injury that hasn't returned.

I admit it's a risk but until you know why he was out every week it's pointless facts.

He has dodgy hamstrings btw.

Always been a huge fan of Lewis, has matured into a fine player. What ever happened to Rooney who played on the opposite wing to Lewis? Plus my fav player around that time was Martin Lang.

Happy with this signing. Lots of experience at FB, better then Phelps and will be a good mentor for our younger FBs to learn from. 2 years with 1 year option is about right IMO.

He was released by nz because they had a better player in Hohaia, he's been released by wests because we've offered him a longer deal.

He has never been [ithat [/igood and the knee reconstruction and ensuing hamstring problems have stripped him of all his pace and reduced him to half the player he was!

He was only at Wests because he was a cheap option and, after further injury problems, his agent has worked miracles to extend his career by another two years!

I still am a fan of Phelps, I've already said I would have been happy enough if he did sign another deal, but I am also happy that we have signed a good FB with plenty of FB experience at the top level.
