| Quote ="Kosh"I thought we played well TBH. Rovers may not have been very good but we showed some good stuff in attack. Defence on our own line still a worry, although two tries were conceded to huge forward passes.
I expect us to lose heavily at Wire. We've just played a high intensity Derby game and they've had a training session against Salford. Plus we'll be missing Long who was my MOM yesterday. If we can keep the score respectable I'll be reasonably happy TBH.'"
We will no doubt lose on Monday but then another loss to saints the following monday leaves us with 4 wins from 13 games which is completely unacceptable.

| For me; (I am ecstatic over the win and general performance)
1. I am still a little concerned over the way our interchanges go
2. Wrong options in attack, at times we seem to all stop, and then the player with the ball comes back inside instead of continuing the play left or right.
3. Not enough support play still (athough it was much superior yesterday, so lets hope it continues)
4. Poor defense in our own 30
We were far superior to rovers, but at best, I think we are an average side. 7/8th at best.

| Great day yesterday. Derby victory, in the sunshine, cracking atmosphere and Willie Manu providing a moment we'll be talking about for years to come.
But the OP is right, the victory only temporarily deflects attention away from the fundamental problems which continue to hold us back from challenging at the top of the game (lack of quality on the playing side, our doubts about the coach). We've been down this road before, particularly last year. Every time we have a cracking win, all is rosy in the garden. But, as this side have proved time after time, we can't maintain that level consistently.
All 14 teams in SL will have their moments this season when they look like contenders, witness Crusaders yesterday. But when the business end of the season arrives it will be the usual suspects fighting it out for the prizes. We all know that will not be us.
We will still have the odd game where we look capable but overall we will continue to flatter to deceive whilst the current heirachy (board, coaching staff & playing roster) remains in place.
Still really enjoying today though. Basking in the sunshine (and the afterglow of a Derby victory ).

We have a victory - some fans enjoy it for what it is - a victory. Then we get someone coming on claiming that we all think that "everything in the garden is rosy". Where have people said that ? Fans enjoying a victory doesn't mean that all of a sudden everyone thinks we're world beaters. You are making a connection that doesn't exist. I would think that most fans fear the worst on Monday.

I agree with you we obviously have a chance and I will pray for victory. It's just that we do it seriously tough at Easter year in year out.

Sorry, wrong choice of words. I was just agreeing with the OP in that a one off victory doesn't alter the bigger picture, the one were we continually flatter to deceive. We always feel better in the immediate aftermath of a victory, particularly a derby win, only to be brought back down to earth soon after.
I think nearly all of us now realise that one victory isn't going to suddenly propel us above Wigan/Wire/Sts and this weekend will probably be another affirmation of that. I'm the same as everyone else today, merely enjoying yesterday's game for what it was, no more no less.
Like I said, it was a wrong choice of words. That's the problem with Internet forums, pretty easy to put your point across wrongly.

| Quote ="cod'ead"As pleased as I was about today's win, I still reckon it's only papering over the cracks, although these days it would probably be Artex rather than Anaglypta.
If and it's a bloody big [size=200IF[/size, we can keep Warrington within 10 points on Monday and then back up on Mayday against Saints, I might just develop some optimism.
I still think Agar will not take us anywhere soon though but thanks for today's win.'"

And?
Your point is what exactly?
Do I assume from your reply that you struggle with basic English comprehension?
