James Rule is employed by an organisation that has about 40 days a year where his attendance is, in the opinion of most people, required, to be unable to oragnise his leave around that is rediculous.

Bit of a crap analogy unless you're suggesting that Rule's attendance at games has the same importance to the result.

It's a perfect analogy, Rule is CEO of a business, the business is largely supported by two things, the fans and the sponsors, both of which have every right to expect the CEO of the business to be in attendance on the days when the business is undertaking it's obligations, ie:playing a game.

It's a crap analogy because one has an immediate and tangible effect on the performance of the team and the other doesn't. The two are just not analogous. You make a decent point about sponsor expectations, however.

Ultimately we agree that employees of the club, and certainly senior employees, should be in attendance when the club is performing it's core business, the reasoning is slightly different, but the requirement to be in attendance remains.

To be honest, had we won, I doubt it would matter, it's more the fact that we lost and then Rule had the temerity to insult the fans intelligence via the media.

Yup. All through the week before the game when the old 'we won't underestimate Wakey' line was being trotted out you just knew that we would.

JR has been an FC fan since he was a young kid living in Anlaby as was his father and grandfather before him, because he prefares Union before league as a player has absolutely no bearing on his ability in his current position which is a position he has been exemplary in.
You know he has took the pizz so badly he has turned down jobs with two other SL set ups and one premiership soccer club to stay, horrible man he is huh NOT!!!
I have on more than one ocassion sat beside him at matches and he plays the game from the terraces tackle by tackle and hates it with a vengence when we play badly AND vents his feelings regularly too .
As for having a weekend away , well its laughable that he has had any grief over it because it was booked in before the season started, signed off by KH and only folk outside the club are even bothered by it!!!

The guy has done an exemplary job at the club and will continue to do so for some time yet i hope...

If we had won on Friday, nothing would even have been mentioned. I'm as unhappy as the next supporter, but to me this is a total non- issue.
I'm more bothered about on the field matters, rather than our CEO having a pre-arranged break.
