I'm one of Agars biggest critics, but I can see that we have played without halfbacks for most of the season, now yes Agar signed players that have been the wrong choices, but we still finished higher in the league than many expected, it was a disappointing end to the season, but had we beaten L**ds or KR (or both) then it would have been all happiness and smiles on here.

Yes. Ultimately the season came down to the Leeds and Rovers games for a lot of fans and, despite being in relatively good shape injurywise, both were a big letdown, particularly the Rovers game. If we'd beaten Rovers, we'd be going to Wigan on Friday in good spirits and regarding the season as a successful turnaround and something to build on. As it is, we've been shagged by Rovers and their 5,000 jubilant fans on our own muck and finished one place above Celtic Crusaders. That's the "momentum" we take mentally into the offseason, and that's sport, I'm afraid. As already said I'm renewing all our passes, but just because it's what I do. Other teams are strengthening to a greater degree than we are, so I can't say I'm relishing the new season right now.

I can't say I disagree, but I also understand that 2012 is going to be key for recruitment, and I do NOT trust Agar to be in charge of it.

That makes it worse TBH. I think we're saying effectively it's 18 months until Agar [ureally[/u gets his team out on the pitch (injuries-permitting), by which time Radford will be on a golden handcuffs deal until he hits 40. Rule will be excusing next year as one of "consolidating"

We finished 4th in 2007. It's the manner in which we finished (-15 points difference). I can see the improvements and recognise them. I've followed Hull under Agar for over 2 seasons now and enjoyed next to none of it.
Agar deserves merit fir the turn around, it's the Agar brand of rugby that is turning me away from buying a pass, not the finishing position.

We have indeed, played with halfbacks for most of the season. So when we get our two first choice halfbacks on the field v KR, and our full back gets injured, why didn't the coach put Turner there instead of splitting our half backs up?
Maybe there would have been happiness and smiles all around but I can't forget my feeling of emptiness at Crusaders, Salford, Wigan, etc, etc, when the team seemed like they couldn't care less.
We need a coach who can inspire his players, and until the board realise the current one cannot do this, they won't change things.
The way I can make a difference is to vote with my feet. Hull fans should not put up with mediocrity. They turn up in great numbers putting hundreds of thousands into the club's coffers, money that should be spent on luring a respected coach here.

Even more so when you think that possibly if Radders hadn't got a red card we'd be at home this week to Huddersfield. That's life.

But this is what I don't get, who was the last "top" coach we had, McRae, and we inherited him, when did Hull last PAY for a top coach?

I would argue about McRae's credentials as a top coach.
For somebody that had the players in his pocket, Brain Smith was our last coach who really was right up there.
And wasn't it Mike Stanley, with his money where his mouth was, who paid Smith's air fare over here because of his utmost confidence in him.
I wonder if any of our current board would do likewise.

Which is my point, people bemoan the appointment of Agar, but not one of his predecessors was that good, we haven't had a top coach for 20 years!

So, with the "never had it so good" period of record attendances in SL, why don't we go out and break the bank for a Wayne Bennett?
Because our board are happy to take the money and keep dishing out mediocrity.
We don't have any Mike Stanleys on our board any more.

As someone who knows and worked with Mike, I hope he'll forgive me for saying "good!", he was a genuine fan but bringing Smith in nearly led to us going out of business, Smith assembled his squad at huge cost.

I would say from memory, Smith made a lot of average local lads play out of their skins. I don't recall him recruiting on the scale of today's Hull FC team. Greg Mackey and one or two others maybe? But we're going a bit off topic here!

| Those quoting the improvement in the league position should consider the season in "coach speak" "it's not about the result but the performance".
On that basis the season has been poor. A negative points difference, only occasional flashes of anything other than 5 drives and a kick, stange interchange policy and few games to excite the terraces.

| Some great comments here but i had the same coversation at work and what is a massive kick in the teeth is off the field we must be up there with the best money wise, why can't our greedy board get the cash out and spend abit on coaching and on the team.
Like I said in the original post i will re-new my pass but am I heckers looking forward to next season, even the so called BIG teams have bought BIG names.

| Season passes will be down for a number of reasons next year.
Our pathetic results to low clubs going to be one and we've had 2 years of not my team well this year it was his team and still no progress where it matters, no cup run or progrese in play-offs.
No big signings and we are getting used to the speel
We need a coach asnd a good one to improve or stay where we are and be allso rans and watch gates slowly drop.

| The question asked was Re: Season Passes 2011 Who getting one and who not..
not excuses to why not renewing ..Its people choice if they are not getting one ..But remember if fans don't turn up the Club will not move forwards ..Its us fans that make the Club ..Over the years I have seen people at the top come and go ..And the younger fans will be saying the same in a few years time

4th or 7th matters not to me. I've been saying all season about performances been more important to me and i stand by that. I know loads of people disagree but had we put in performances this season i still believe we would have finished 4th or higher, especially thinking of the points we threw away.

| Didn't everyone say this at the end of last season, this was with O'Meley and Fitz(and maybe Long) already signed. A month later everyone is buying passes in record numbers.
