Well i think relying on Tansey to do the scrum halfs job is a big ask so we need another scrum half asap as there is nobody at the club capable of doing it to a decent standard. Webster was just an idea

think id give Danny Nicklas a go at half back along side Horney, didnt seem to do us any harm when when FC threw Anthony Thackray in at half back against Wakey a few seasons back when we had an injury crisis and if i remember rightly it was a Sky game and he performed quite well. Danny Nicklas is ready and he didnt look out of place on his his recent outing in the first team if your good enough ur old enough.
Theres are enough old heads in the FC team to help him along if need be.

Am I the only one who would be slightly concerned if Tansey had his hands on the ball on a regular basis in the middle of the pitch? Strikes me as an off the cuff type player who would take too many low percentage play options under pressure, which would not help us with our structured game plan IMO. I'd Play Berro at SH.

I asked Webbo last night if he wanted to play and John Flatman quickly replied they didn't have a big enough cheque book, read into that what you will!!!

I think Agar will keep Tansey at full back due to him already playing as a pivot from there.
Myself I'd like see Tansey in the middle of the park, due to his off the cuff play & pace.

He also has a lot more space in which to work at FB, when he puts kicks in he is usually in a fair amount of space whereas at HB he'd be targeted and I'm not sure he'd be as effective.

I don't think it will make much difference who the halfback pairing are. We have shown this season we are poor with ball in hand and look clueless the majority of the time. We seem to have one attacking move which involves Tansey coming into the attacking line, the rest of the time there is very little cohesion between the players.

One thing Horne will bring is a bit of backing up that the rest of the team seem incapable of doing for the majority of the time.

Would be interesting to know the percentage of the tries we have scored that have come from kicks.

Yes but i am pretty sure more than 20% of our tries come from kicks. Thats why when our attacking kicking is poor we play poorly. Yet other teams can have some awful kicking on display yet still manage to score plenty of points with well worked moves and good running and backing up.

I guess you could watch HullFC.tv to check. I thought all of the tries from our last two home games came from passes - didn't see our Huddersfield tries.

One of the reasons Widnes released Webster was on the understanding we wouldnt be asking him to play for us so its a guaranteed non starter.

Berro at 7, if Horne's back at 6 fine (heard hes way off according to one player). Otherwise it'll be Washy/Berro, which doesnt bode well for the remainder of the season.

Can we afford to sacrifce the rest of Cusacks season and bring someone on a short term deal from Oz/NZ? I cannot believe we are upto cap? Only other option is to blood one of our young kids, are they upto it? I doubt any other club would be willng to release one of their fringe halves to a playoff rival.

Understatement of the year. Both have been tried in the halves ad nauseam. Persisting with that combination when we've got Tansey and Whiting in good form available is an exercise in futility IMO.

Maybe Hall in the h/back role....

Of all the options we have that is by far the worst one.

Really, I believe Washbrook remaining as one of the half backs is the worst option available.
