I like the extract from the standard letter sent out to us all, impossible to please all our fans, I guess they are right and we do have a few fans happy to see agar in the job and the team playing really crap.

I know that some on here like to say that the board has just been lucky, but I can remember not that long ago when our commercial operations were a shambles and we were not able to generate the income that our situation made available. Whatever else he may or may not have done, Rule has overseen a transformation of that side of the business so that we now maximise income from all potential revenue streams.

The [ionly[/i area where Rule and the board have fallen short is the one most important to the fans, and that's the on-field performance. It needs sorting, but I can't see why we have to throw the baby out with the bath water to do it.

There is the distinct possibility that he doesn't consider it to be bull. He could be completely genuine. I know for a fact that there are respected former players and others with good standing in the sport who insist that Agar is a good coach who will produce given time. Maybe Rule and the board are persuaded by people like these rather than complaints from the fans.

Sorry submitted it before I had finished. Your right most teams have a Head Coach that can manage situations. Agar is just an attacking coach but a very good one.

Bang on, I reckon. Calling for Rule's head isn't the answer - he seems to do some things very well. The on-field side of the club desperately needs sorting however, or it might start to threaten the off-field profitability.

I am not agreeing with either of you but I would point out that Tony Smith has a very good coach under him at Wire and I know for an absolute fact that Nobby does very little on the training field as he has Iestyn and Jon Sharp below him.

Some clubs have the Manager/Coach thing, some dont.

To those who do not understand what Standee is trying to say here it is in an easy form..
to be sucessful onfield first you have to be sucessful off the field, the current regime have proven themselves in that off field area beyond doubt and as we have seen at the start of this season the on field structure was changed to begin the rebuilding process which started with Long, Omeley and Fitzgibbon etc , this will be continued as per the long term plan they have with new players coming in on a regular basis and less effective ones leaving as was the case pre season all of which will enhance the on field ...
from basement club to champions will not happen overnight its as simple as that , look how long Warrington built bit by bit each year !!

and to be fair, think back to pre season posters on this forum who regularly warned against over expectation in one season and its clear on this forum who did not heed that warning...

Can be said but you need to have the "cash to splash" in the first place and a stable foundation to attract the big guns as we did with Fitzgibbon, Omeley and Shaun... once you have those succeses on field then the whole thing trundles along quite nicely , however we have stumbled on field due to the worst injury crisis a team could have , even by our standards...

Injuries are a cheap excuse, yes the injury list is bad right now but it hasn't been bad every week this season.

even with a full strength squad we would be going nowhere with Agar.

So a coach with a medium sized playing rosta loses approx 8 Internationals from that squad due to various injuries for a period of time, carries another 3 or 4 with weekly pain killing injections to keep them on the green has no excuse?? the injuries are Mr Agars fault then I presume?
