| Quote ="Dave K."The problem is that we will lose Cusack next season, Radford and then you dont want to keep Dowes.
That would mean that would need to sign 2/3 British props for next season, is their the quality available to do this? Is there is, then great, but I doubt it, even the top teams have players like Dowes in their team.
So unless their are 2/3 very good props avaialable that we can afford, then either Dowes or Radford need to be kept.'"
it amazes me how people say radford, dowes and others aren't good enough but then can never give you a alternitive.

| Dowes is as loyal and hardworking as they come. We simply don't have enough room on the cap to sign another 3 props in the O'Meley mould - it'd be nice if we did! He and Cusack do an important job when they come on.
Prop is the position which'll change the most for 2011. Radford, Dowes and Cusack all OOC. Cusack will be going with the quota restrictions, Dowes I expect we'll re-sign, Radford I'm not sure on.

I would expect Dowes to re-sign also, can't see anything other than Yak retiring. So, to Radford, i would expect that he's on a fair wedge given what he'd achieved at the Bulls. I would like to think the club are looking to sign a younger replacement.
My preference would be LMS if he's willing to come up north as i would suspect he might not demand as much as Radford is on currently which will hopefully allow us to get a younger prop in and see how they go (like Moa is doing now) would like Watts from Rovers for this.
I'd like our props to look like this next year:
O'Meley
LMS
Dowes
Moa
Watts

Cos the point is that Radford isnt good enough any more ..... there are few alternatives out there but Dowes i think I would keep due to his length of service, his age and his commitment....
Think we will miss Cussack if he goes mark my words many miss the hard work he does clearly

all a fair shout that fella, however is LMS out of contract ???
Radford has to go , he has looked at best very very average apart from one match thus far this year , moa has to step up and prove he is worthy and as for improvements other than Moa I dont know where else there are props available

| Harsh on Radford GU, He has improved a hell of a lot on last season and has had some good games so far this year. Gave a lot of silly penalties away against Wigan granted but played well on Friday.

Agree with Watts though he is likely to stay at Caravan Park

I think/hope we will see a good season from Dowes this year. He has good footwork and his game is, therefore, suited to the harder grounds and spelling him this year will mean we get more impact from his spells imo.
