On topic ,Halibut MUST be the worst ref ever,bar none.

Spot on, we have never seemed capable of playing to a ref's strengths & weaknesses. At any one time, there are 27 people on the field, who can have a direct influence on the game. Game plans and moves are customised at training to take advantage of an opposition team or individual player's strengths and weaknesses, to fail to include the referee in those plans is inexcusable. All refs have particular areas of the game that they major on, so usually there's no need to wait until the game has started to unfold, to see what the ref's particular area may be. If during a game, you are getting pinged for something, then stop doing it, it can't be that difficult surely? |

Or having a ref that has the basic knowledge of the game may help....there is a small pool of refs and they are in a comfort zone....was impressed with Childs the other night at dobbins. |

Dave, you forgot from all your experience within the game that 99% of rugby players lack something 
Although in fairness when he had Halibut the other week, he let go everything he was pulling for us on friday, but yes after the 3rd penalty we should have clicked upstairs |
