Lets be honest none of the above where very influential last season, even the legendary Gene. Fozzy did nothing but a solid job, didn't out perform Wheeldon who was pretty good for us, Macca should have got more game time IMO.
So if we do finally close out the signing of Clinton and the emergence of Watts(who looked good against an experienced Bradford pack)we will be no worse off.

Maybe, you were lucky with very few injuries though, (and long may that continue for both clubs).

With regards Raynor's (cash) we should only use it on a half back to bring in to be long's long time replacement. IMHO.

Havent you seen there other signings play ? On top of Menzies, Lynch, Langley etc there side will go well.
Brown is the type of coach that will change his plays from week to week to maintain that surprise element.

Yes there pack is light weight but very skill full . If Clinton can bring his form from his Penrith days he'll be a great signing. Also they have a very clever coach.

| 5th at best IMO, would be over the moon with that as well. As long as I enjoy watching the games this season and it is not a complete chore (as it became last season in particular) then I will be happy. At the end of the day as long as you enjoy going to the rugby and are entertained and can have a social enjoyment factor, I can honestly say that success is simply an added bonus to me. You do tend to have more fun when you win though!

Big if, they have the potential to be skilful, however I believe they were found out towards the end of the season, deal with Dobbo it stops the team, which showed in the play-off's, teams will be more aware of them this season. Morgan is a good coach but not so clever at building relationships with all his players.I do not believe with or without Clinton they will be top 4, nor do I believe they will be above us.
The original point they have little depth in the squad.

Fair comments. I've rarely enjoyed going over the last couple of years. Even when we won we'd hardly be classed as entertaining. Hopefully the enjoyment factor will return and if success follows, all the better.

Nail on the head, over the last couple of season I have often being sat in the stadium wondering what am I doing here.
I lost the excitement I used to have getting ready etc..All I want is to go and start to enjoy it again, just to see the team play with pride and passion and look like they want to wear our shirts, bit of biff and excitement again the results if they go our way are just a bonus really. However I do feel more optimistic than I have for a while.

Become more of a chore the last couple of years at time imo but looking forward to this year.

| Just found this off the saints website. Makes interesting reading from one of there supporters.
A season of toil and trouble awaits us. Hull looks super strong, their pack is truly monstrous and their backs are miles better than ours.
We haven't scored more than 20 points in a home game since June (And even that was against Celtic Crusaders) and it's been 9 games since we beat 20 points in any game. It will be interesting to see if Potter moves the slider away from '1 out down the middle' and makes us do anything remotely resembling free flowing rugby.
I'll go for Saints 12 Hull 28 and a massive amount of shock on the terraces.

| I'd like to temper any over enthusiasm, yes I am optimictic about the season ahead with the squad we have but lets not talk ourselves too much. Saints are still a very good side and if we get a result on Saturday then it will be massive for us but if we don't it's not the end of the world.

Spot on. In reality Saints should be a good 8-12 points better than us but IMO it wouldn't be a huge shock if win there. They often start the season slowly and with the team as fired up and full of confidence as it appears to be we are in with a realistic chance of getting the win.

I think that if we can keep away from the nightmare injuries we have had over the past 2 seasons, and a fair bounce of the ball, we should have a good season(my feet are planted well and truly on the ground).Anticipation is better than previous campains.Well better than the last 2 seasons. How do you think your season will go??

I agree with you on most points there.
Hopefully consolidate ourselves as a play-off team. Top 6 will be a good achievement this season IMO.

| very confident tbh,we look to have a great squad this season and like ive said before some players are going to be dissapointed not to play on saturday but its all good starting the season with a fully fit squad to choose from,i was working at south hunsley school today fitting some carpets i went to make a cuppa tea at lunch and i noticed the team were training on the astra turf,i popped to watch them for 10,the players look very good in training and it was nice to see long showing his skills off,hes got a great kicking game and i can see our backs scoring a lot of tries, like longy has said in interviews hes like a young kid and feels fit as a fiddle, it sure looks that way, im expecting big things from him and horney this season.
shortly after i went back to work i got a phone call from a mate he said wolfie ive just heard some bad news apparently longy has injured himself in training and will be out for 3 weeks have you heard out,i just laughed and said is that the same longy ive just seen training
Roll on saturday i cant wait.

I dont expect you to agree on all points. After all you are from the darkside
still think that Leeds will finish top. I don't think that saints will have a season like many of their fans are expecting. Think Wires will have a good season and Bradford will do a lot better than last season(not to hard to do there eh). Think Hull fc will finish in the play off, but not to sure where.I think there is a lot of suprises to unfold, more intensity in games than in previous years, which must add to the excitment of ''the greatest contact sport''.
