Quite right. All the talk of 'giving something back' for all Horne has given the club over the years in nonsense. Horne has 'given' the sum total of nil to the club. He's a (relatively) well paid employee of the club doing what he is being paid to do. He's not some sort of charity worker, selflessly giving of his own time for the benefit of others.

It doesn't stop me supporting the club just because I don't think we (as supporters) owe anything to its well-paid employees. I attend matches and I buy merchandise. That goes towards paying the players' more than adequate wages. I don't feel I 'owe it to Horney' to attend the derby - I'm doing so for the reason I always attend matches.

I'm not sure what your point is here. AA hasn't said anything about not supporting the side or any of it's players, and has already stated that he'll be at the game. What more do you expect him to do?



I'm a big fan of Horne and have enjoyed watching him over the years. I'm happy that by attending the game at the weekend I'll be adding to what is effectively a long service award/bonus for him, and I will enjoy being able to celebrate his 10 years at the club. These things will add to the event, although I generally attend the Rovers friendly anyway (when at the KC) and am not going because I feel I owe Horne anything.

As it is I revel in the diversity of RLFans, the majority are here for the right reasons, and engage in the spirit intended, a small minority try and shout the odds, but in the main we are like any family, disfunctional but loving!
