5th 6th 7th 8th, either team from hull will finish in these positions, however we'll only be round there if long stays fit and is comfortable in the squad, neither team will win anything this year, the real competition for both teams this year is finishing above each other, leeds to win the full lot this year with catalan in the grand final and huddersfeild in the cc final, ryan hall top try scorer, sinfeild mos, celtic bottom and salford 2nd from bottom

Both Bradford and Hull have had lean times recently and been through a rebuilding process under new(ish) coaches. I reckon both of these teams should be expected to do well. Each looks good in the pack, although I think FC have more depth, and both now have quality half-backs. It would be good to see a couple of "young" British coaches have success in SL - there's nowhere to hide this year if they fail.

I'd be very happy wth 4th, personally. Leeds look to have the strongest squad and Saints, Warrington, Catalans, Huddersfield and Wigan will all be up there. Bradford and Rovers will also be in contention for a play off spot.

I'm happy with the improvements to our squad but I think some people are getting a little carried away.

It's tough to call this year. I think there are some good squads - Warrington with Smith must have a great chance - very good team on paper that could finally start putting it in on the park. Leeds look to be the main contenders by a country mile. I'm not sure about Saints though: I really think they'll miss Longy - who wouldn't? - but they know how to succeed and are full of stars. Les Cats again look to have a good tough pack and strong backs but without Bird will find it much harder than with him. Rovers? - they have not done much in the off-season (and they struggled badly towards the end of season) whereas a lot of the others have made good purchases - good coach though and strong half-backs going forward. Wigan... who knows - Nobby did a great job with what he had but Maguire will have to find his feet over here – not that it can’t be done (ala Anderson etc). I like the signings Bradford have made in Hall and Orford, they suffered from some injuries to key players last year that derailed their campaign and I also think Macca is starting to bloom as an RL coach – I can see them being up there. Huddersfield will be interesting in Nathan Brown’s second year – they’ve tasted the playoffs and now have a better idea what to expect – I remember how hard it was for FC to get that first win (same goes for Rovers too I suppose). Hull FC – so, lots of ifs and buts…. if they stay free of devastating injuries and if Agar can bring them together, we have a very strong pack, an exciting, young back line and proven half backs in Long and Horne. It could be a great season for Hull because I think this is the best team I have seen in decades but, at the moment, it’s only on paper. Any one of the other teams Wakefield, Cas, Quins can upset anyone and Salford and Celtic won’t be pushovers on their day - particularly Celtic toward the end of the season.
