I thought that too but others on here have often said it wasn't down to Sharp.

| I think your lucky you never got Sean Long a year earlier because behind the pack you've had on the field this year I think he'd have looked very average.
The half back will never give you go forward without a good pack giving him time to decision make and execute the plays. Add to that a lack off runners and options and Thorman had little chance.
The pack was always your problem area this year and with a big improvement in that area next year the backs will look far better.

| agree, playing behind a better pack may have given him a better chance.the problem chris has had,is that the fans really have got on his back, and he has never been able to win them over.agar has treated him really bad(i was at the cas game),but credit to him,he has tried to keep going.our unbeaten start to the season coincided with him playing behind a confident pack, but as soon as they struggled,so did he.having to conjure something up from halfway in his own half because of our poor forwards, didn't do him any good.i agree he isn't a top class half back but he could have been the backup for longy and rich horne next year, but i don't think that will happen now.also, fair play to him yesterday at the bbq.my lad was just as happy to have him signing his shirt as any other player, and his attitude was 1st class with everyone.good luck next season chris, wherever you play.

Most of the people who wanted rid of Thorman would say that Agar should have acted sooner. I think it likely that there was pressure from the board (and, perhaps, Sharp) to keep him on the park. Ultimately, Agar had to act and, whether the timing was poor, act he did. At the end of the day, Thorman did not produce the goods for us. I wish him well, as I do anyone who pulls on the black & white jersey but he cost us too many games - particularly with his defensive frailties - to keep him at the club.

Depends how far back you take that really. Had Thorman being playing to the required standard in that game I doubt very much whether Agar would have made the decision to bring him off. Far too much is being made of it.
In some ways I do agree with you though. There should never have been the incident at Cas because he should not have been selected again after his performance against Leeds away which was the worst I have seen by a Hull player for many a year - and that is saying something.
