Loyalty generally is blind. If you have to think long and hard about whether to be loyal or not it's not really loyally is it?

People are free to choose what they want to do. What I object to is when people seem to view the fact that they will still turn up regardless out of 'loyalty' (which in my opinion is misguided) as giving them some sort of superiority.

It seems that loyalty is a two way thing that has to be earned in every walk of life but sport. For some reason a sports fan has to show unending, unwavering 'loyalty' by forking out and turning up even if they feel they may be being taken for a ride.

I've not seen any evidence of that.

And I suppose everyone turning their back on the club will make us into an irresistable force?

It's got feck all to do with settling for mediocrity, I want this club to blow everyone out of the water every game, of course I do, but it doesn't happen like that. People seem to be able to come up with plenty of faults with Hull FC but no one has any answers, lets sack the coach and get rid of the dead wood half way through a season, thats great, but who is going to replace them? People are tied down to contracts and teams don't want to let their best players leave half way through the season. You can't just wave a magic wand and make everything okay.

Realistically there is nothing fans can do to help the club. Do you honestly think that just because people don't renew their passes the board will think, "oh dear, we need to buy a team of superstars to get them back on our side?" As a fan all you can do it support the team, thats what I intend to do and thats what everyone should be doing if they want to make a difference.

You are right but in the same way I don't think people who want to go and support the team regardless of the issues surrounding it should be called 'mugs' (not saying you have said this but it appears on this thread).

It's not about getting us back on their side, it would be about them wanting us to start spending money again. And I do honestly think they would have to think about it if enough people stopped going and buying merchandise.

I agree, I just think it cuts both ways.

I haven't had a pass for two seasons now, and its great because when they're playing $hite I dont feel obliged to go and watch them 'just because I have a pass'. Ive actually saved a fair amount of money in this time.

I don't think I'm superior to anyone else because I get behind the team. I just don't get the mentality of people who say about how much they love the club and yet are prepared to turn their back on the side that they have supposedly supported all their life just because things aren't going their way.

Because it's the only weapon we have. Do you take any and all mistreatment from family and friends without any protest?

It's not about simply falling out of love with the team, it's about doing the only thing you can think of to get the message across that you want to be treated right in return.

means you can go to the game and get your point across + the board will see how upset you are.

Not been able to afford a pass this year......even struggling to get 'pass savings stamps' to be honest......BUT.....I support Hull FC, always have and always will.....If the funds become available....I WILL HAVE A PASS NEXT YEAR.....Players and coaches come and go.....FC will always be there!!!! And as long as I can walk......SO WILL I!!!

But it's not the same is it? The club are hardly mistreating it's fans, they are playing poorly and will be feeling equally bad as we are because of it. Do you think the players and coaches like losing? Do you think the board enjoy the stick that they are getting? As I've said before you can't just wave a magic wand and make everything okay. To get this club back to the top is going to be a long process, it could take years, but we have the resources to do it. It's not a case of the board not wanting to make us a top side, but it's easier said than done. Besides we are currently the 6th best team in the country, the way people are going on you would think we are on the edge of going out of existance.

I obviously cannot speak for other pass holders but when i say i may not renew mine for next season that doesn't mean i'll stop supporting the team / club or stop going to games. What i might do is pick and choose the games i want to attend as opposed to shedding out money in advance for what is effectively cr*p entertainment.

I have followed Hull since the late 80's and like many of us i have seen worse sides and darker days but i bugrudge (especially in these economic times) paying top dollar watching some of thee worst rugby i have witnessed at the club.And i mean being bored senseless while watching it. I class myself as lucky to have the money to spend in advance and buy merchandise as and when i like but i ain't wasting season pass money on this......I'd rather lose games but go down in a blaze of glory rather than do what we do now!

Will be re-newing mine........i have a great seat at the back of the esat stand on the H/W line and that is a maajor reason.....i dont re-new and i lose that seat and apart from the seat i would re-new anyway as i have seen a damn sight worse than this....the Tony Gordon,Len Casey,Peter walsh era's were all worse and we nearly went out of buisness........the board need to wake up and see that if they give us a team that plays with pride and 100% we will turn up in our droves to watch.

But after saints we will probably be 9th - this saying but we are still 6th etc only 4 points off the top and so on is a bit clutching at straws isnt it

The way i see it is simple. If i go for to a restaurant every week and as time goes by, the Chef starts serving up awful food. Eventually I will stop going until; he brings the food up to the required standard, changes the menu or the owner changes the chef.

I would not continue to go in the hope that one day a decent meal falls out of the kitchen!

I think they are, with their poor recuitment and retention policies and lack of ambition. I think it's an insult.

I don't think it should take that long if some common sense were applied and a genuine effort made. And whilst it's easier said than done, clubs with less going for them than us have fared better in recruitment in recent years than us, so there is something drastically wrong.



I think our position is a slightly false one TBH. On current form Warrington are better than us, Catalans are still in a state of change, and I also expect at least 2 of Wakey, Cas and Wigan to overtake us before the season's out.

I reckon that mentality at christmas would have been great for City come the end of the season. I bet all of them still think it's just bad luck they didn't make europe.
