As i have said before i dont get where the whole Lee is this great defender comes from as Quins pin pointed him for their second try as he plants his feet far too early and when defending your line you cant afford to do that.

If Washbrook and Whiting were both at 100% i dont think he would be anywhere near the starting 17 anyway.

No he never, Randall got King interested by jumping out of acting half and engaged King there was no rushing out on Kings behalf, he just drifted slightly.

This left Lee with a 1 on 1 tackle to make and due to Lee's tackling technique he is never going to stop a bigger player in that situation be it from late footwork or simply running over the top of him.

Same can be said of Hall with 1st try but no one has mentioned that.

Lee cannot change a game when he comes on...none of our subs can...thats why Washy and Whiting should be over Lee.

He only drifted, but drifted too far and didn't reset anywhere near quick enough. As a non-marker, he's got to be able to make it across to a player running a line no more than 3/4 metres away from dummy half, especially as it wasn't a massively delayed pass, with Golden receiving the ball a few metres from the line. Randall wasn't King's man and he didn't need to be anywhere near as close as he was.

Lee's only chance of making the tackle was to knock Golden over with the initial impact and, given the size difference, it's no surprise that he didn't.

If Lee had got off of the line faster instead of planting his feet early for the tackle he would have been in a far better position to make the tackle or at least hold him up longer so King could come in and affect the tackle.

I disagree. If he'd have pushed up further, he'd have had to make the tackle whilst he was unbalanced and not set with a good platform to push off from. If anything, it would have increased the chance of Golden actually breaking the tackle.

King didn't need to be as far across as he was and, if he was where he should have been, he would have been in a position to assist with the tackle.

Tommy Lee has had lots of opportunities to shine and he hasn't really done that yet. We'd have been better off giving Anthony Thackeray a chance.

Also, anybody else think Tommy Lee has bulked up a bit? He looks like a forward this year!

Yes, and although he probably doesn't play as badly as many claim he does I dont think for one second he's cutting it playing for Hull FC.
