I've always thought our current posts were too short and they were brought into doubt on Friday night with one of Holdsworth's kicks. Thankfully it didn't affect the final result.

I remember at The Boulevard they changed the posts to accomodate Sammy Lloyd's higher kicks. I know the heightof the posst at the KC may be limited due to the need for taking the posts down after games to accomodate the rugby/football match switch, but surely they can find some slightly taller posts to ensure any questionable kick is awarded correctly.

After all I'm sure we wouldn't want to win a game in the last minute, (for example v Rovers) with the dubious award of a goal that wasn't.....

Holdsworth missed that game & we missed 2 possibly 3 kicks then as well.
Holdsworth's misses were pretty poor for a pro kicker especially as we weren't under any pressure score wise, if he can't get those types of kicks then in the run up to the end of season and in a clutch situation I wouldn't be feeling anything like as confident if it was Tickle taking them..
We really need to establish who is going to be doing the GK duties for next season, don't know if Miller kicks but in all honesty I'd rather have someone other than Holdsworth, nothing personal mind.

There's enough responsibility on Holdsworth's shoulders as it is. If we can find someone else to kick, it would be a good thing, imho. Give DJ a rest and chance to talk to the team between tries.

Absolutley correct IMO. We've been saying this pretty much all the time we've been at the KC. Need to be half as high again I reckon.

That's no good. It only extends it by 2-4 inches.

Holdsworth is a back up kicker at best for me. We've been slightly spoilt with Tickle over the last few years I know but I have no confidence that Holdsworth will nail a pressure kick even from a relatively easy spot. As a team that doesn't score as many tries as the big boys its vital we convert as many of them as possible.

Hold your horses people. No need to jump to rash decisions.

He seems to kick the harder ones and struggle with the easier kicks.

Sure he is well aware of this so hopefully with a bit of practice he will correct it.

Otherwise then we can make a change.

Whiting? He can certainly kick a ball a good distance from the hand, and judging by all his other talents, I would'nt be surprised if he was a decent place kicker.

He has kicked for us before, but you wouldn't want him to be your first choice kicker. Or even your second or third choice.

He was young player of the year once mind.

Whiting kicked goals for us last season (or the year before) for a bit, but they weren't very good, he just kicked it miles in the air but without much direction.

Maybe be a good kick-offer though?

DJ does a great job place kicking if his goal kicking still suffers and tickle isn't available i would go for Crooks to replace him.

Obviously we need to score all of our tries under the sticks. More seriously either Ben Crooks or Westerman are both decent kickers.

didnt gentle once say he wanted westerman to concentrate on his game and not have to worry about kicking i also think ben crooks is still learning and dosent need burdening with the kicking duties yet
